Myrtle Beach 1/2 2/14, Boston 4/20, also a couple 10 milers and a 5k or two along the way
M: 8 mile run T: strength W: 12 w/ 6 at hmp Th: rest Fr: 10 w/intervals, strength S: 5 miles Su: 20 miles
No real issues, just need to do better with getting some speed work in. I can't get the paces I need on the TM , and it is hard when it is icy outside as well. Excuses!
No highlights. January running is kind of boring round here.
By George 10K 2/14, RNR DC Half 3/14, Parkway Classic 4/27, VA Wine Country Half 5/30
Mon - Rest, Tues - 9M, Wed - 5-6M, Thur - 6M w/ 3 at half pace, Fri- Rest probably, Sat - 13M, Sun - 5-6M
Gah! My elbow is still not good and I don't think it's getting any better. No lifting for the last two weeks I'm headed to an orthopedist tomorrow to find out what the hell is going on with it. I'm a little terrified, he may tell me to stop running. I miss lifting and I'm sad all the progress I made is going down the drain.
Last week of hill repeats, they weren't as bad since I shared the pain with my running buddy.
M: spin, strength, swim T: 4m easy okay that didn't go well... got to the track this morning feeling fantastic and couldn't resist doing a little tempo run. I was a full 1:30 - 2:00 faster than I should have been this morning, but it felt so fun to get some fast running in! This plan has zero speed work aside from pace running, and I kind of miss the speed work. W: 7m pace, swim R: spin, swim F: 4m easy S: 9m S: rest
No real issues right now
No highlights either lol. I'm happy the first 6 weeks of training is behind me, but the volume in feb and march is a little frightening to me.

Shamrock Marathon 3/22
Training plan for the week? M: Treadmill intervals
T: Rest/PT
W: Track or treadmill, depending on the weather
T: Rest/PT
F: 6
S: 16-18
S: Rest or 5K race
Any vents or issues?
Still the foot. My PT is starting to talk about a break, so we'll see what happens tonight. Yesterday was rough.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week?
I RAN A 20 MILER!! Mentally and physically, it was much tougher than I expected it to be. I swear, I was a zombie for a good hour after I finished. I'm certainly glad that I don't have to do that distance often, haha. I get all excited when I think about it, but then I think '...but I still have to run a 10k after that.'
M: recovery 5 miles T: 9.5 miles w/ 5x1,000's @5kp, abs W: 8 miles T: rest, abs F: 19 miles w/ 14. @gmp S: 11 miles S: tennis, abs
Vents: The training is getting to me. My legs are tired, my body is tired, and I am not looking forward to my runs as much anymore. 5.5 weeks until marathon. Trying to stay focused but it's getting really hard.
Highlights: 15k PR last week despite my legs feeling like lead.

What are you training for? Date? Nationals- 5/17 Training plan for the week? After a meet it should be a deload week. Ha. Benched last night, will go forward with my usual squat and deadlift. I'm not holding myself to the scheduled workouts, just seeing how things go. Any vents or issues? I hurt, but a little less each day. Highlights or AW 's from the past week? Obviously my meet stuff. Last night's bench I hit my unequipped PR for a very easy single. I had more, but too soon to push it more.
What are you training for? Date? I'm still not signed up for these races, but I have renewed determination that I can and will run them.
50K on April 18 and LWT Marathon on May 9
Training plan for the week? Monday - 3 miles, 1 hour Yoga Tuesday - 4 miles @ half pace, core Wed - off Thursday - 5-6 miles Friday - core, light strength stuff Saturday - 11-12 miles Sunday - core/intensive stretching / maybe easy run
Any vents or issues? Nope. Great week so far.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? 15 miles went awesome on Saturday!! Before that run I was questioning my fitness and doubting I could be ready for any of my goal races. That run was a blessing, no doubt about it.
What are you training for? Date? Reston 10 miler - 3/1, Random 5ks and a possible marathon
Training plan for the week? M - strength T - 8m W - 8m + 4m @ hm pace Th - cross + strength F - rest Sat - 15m Sun - 8m + yoga
Any vents or issues? Running lots of miles in the snow and ice isn't all that fun. Plus it is hard to get the miles in when it gets dark so early. I have 10 on the schedule today, but that isn't happening.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? I went to the US Figure Skating National Championships this weekend and had a ton of fun. I got my picture taken with Jason Brown, Sarah Hughes, Charlie White, Tanith Belbin, Ben Agosto and Scott Hamilton plus a bunch of other lesser known skaters.
M: recovery 5 miles T: 9.5 miles w/ 5x1,000's @5kp, abs W: 8 miles T: rest, abs F: 19 miles w/ 14. @gmp S: 11 miles S: tennis, abs

You're almost to taper! You are killing this training. FWIW I would be exhausted with that schedule too. Make sure to take the easy runs, easy to save your legs for challenging runs.
What are you training for? Date? Reston 10 miler - 3/1, Random 5ks and a possible marathon

I saw this facebook. That's so cool! I was watching it on Saturday night. Who ended up winning it?
M: rest T: short run, lifting class W: long bike T: short run F: long swim S: yoga, short swim, short bike S: long run
I haven't exercised in an entire week. A chest cold really knocked me on my butt. I felt weak on Sunday just jogging to the mailbox. I am not setting distance or time goals for my workouts this week, just for something.
I joined a local tri club on Sunday and registered for my first Olympic distance triathlon in June! I also talked DH into getting me a road bike for my birthday in April. Yay!

I use the word "training" very loosely here.
What are you training for? Date? Disney Princess Glass Slipper Challenge, Feb. 21-22
Training plan for the week?
M: 30 min walk + weights T: 5 mi intervals on TM (was supposed to be longer but I didn't sleep well last night and I'm exhausted) W: 5 mi easy and yoga Th: weights F: 5 mi easy Sat: either rest or a couple of easy miles Sun: 14 miles
Vents: #1: It's snowy and icy on my running trail, so I've been doing a lot of runs on the TM. Tomorrow I may try the sidewalks. I hope people put down salt!
Vent #2: I'm in PT for my hamstring, and I'm sure it will get better eventually, but damn this has been a long road to recovery.
Vent #3: I'm pretty sure the 6:30 am strength training class at my new gym doesn't actually exist. Last week I tried to go to the class, and the instructor didn't show up. Today I went there to use the TM, and I peeked into the class studio and it was empty. Harumph. One reason I joined this gym was because they were supposed to have early morning classes.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? Despite my vent about gym classes, I'm glad I can go there to use the treadmill, because the one at our house is kaput.

What are you training for? Date? Super 5k (2/1), Local 15k (2/8), Wild Rover Series (2/22, 3/1, 3/8), Spring half TBD
Training plan for the week? Mon - rest Tues - speed workout Wed - either 3 or 6 easy miles depending on how I feel and the roads Thurs - rest Fri - short speed workout Sat - rest Sun - 5k!
Any vents or issues? I couldn't get my speed workout in last week. Also two dogs are hard!I think it will get better when Grizzley can do stairs and we don't have to walk him around the house to get up/down a floor in the house.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? Amazing long run on Sunday. Adopting Grizzley!!!!
What are you training for? Date? Reston 10 miler - 3/1, Random 5ks and a possible marathon

I saw this facebook. That's so cool! I was watching it on Saturday night. Who ended up winning it?
Ashley Wagner won for the ladies and Jason Brown for the men. (Although the bronze medalist lost cause he can't do skating math and did too many double jumps)
What are you training for? Date? Austin half, 2.15.15
Training plan for the week? Surviving. I was sick all last week. When I wasn't sick, I was taking care of DS who was sick. So I haven't been able to run until this morning.
Any vents or issues? We moved into a new house on a unlit CR. I mapped the neighborhood and I could get 2 miles at most running the roads in it but if I were to loop that a bajillion times that would get pretty boring. So I inevitably run on the unlit country road to get to another road that is lit. Sure can't wait for my NoxGear Tracer to come in. But it's sold out and scheduled to ship on 2/15. The day of my race.
What are you training for? Date? Cambridge 5K (3/15), Brooklyn Half (5/16)
Training plan for the week?
M: 3 miles, strength T: Blizzard! So shoveling? Ha W: 5 miles Th: 3 miles, strength F: rest S: 8-10 miles S: rest
Any vents or issues? I did a strength circuit yesterday for the first time in weeks? Months? and holy hell did I lose strength! It was quite humbling and definitely motivated me to make it more of a priority.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? n/a
Blizzard? That totally counts as weight work right? Snow looks all nice and fluffy untill you have to shovel it and then it's heavy as hell.
What are you training for? Date? Nothing (ask me in March)
Training plan for the week? Sunday: 50 mile road bike ride Monday: 60 minute trainer ride, core work Tuesday: 3-4 mile walk Wed.: upper body weights Thursday: 60 minute hard trainer ride Friday: Off/house cleaning Sat. & Sunday: 3 hour road or mtb ride
Any vents or issues? Nope.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? I got third at my final cyclocross race of the season a week ago last Sunday.

What are you training for? Boston, April 20
Training plan for the week? M: HIIT T: interval run W: HIIT H: 7 mile tempo run F: rest S: 17 mile run U: weights
Any vents or issues? I have two sick kids and I'm really tired from being up all night every night with whiny pants baby. I'm completely unmotivated to get up early to get my workouts in, so I've been doing them after bedtime, and that sucks.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? 15 miles went awesome on Saturday!! Before that run I was questioning my fitness and doubting I could be ready for any of my goal races. That run was a blessing, no doubt about it.
What are you training for? Date? 1 pull-up: No date Half-marathon - June (haven't started training yet)
Training plan for the week? Cross train M/F; Heavy lift T/Th
Any vents or issues? I can't with the little kids spectating cross train class. I get that it's a family friendly facility but the kids need to SIT DOWN where they are told. If they can't, then they need to leave.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? It was 70 outside yesterday. We had class outside for a portion and it felt glorious.

What are you training for? Date? Gasparilla Half (2/22), Azalea Trail Run 10K (3/28), Biggest Loser Half (4/19), Tinkerbell Half (5/10)
Training plan for the week? I thought this said Travel Plans. I need more sleep.
M: 3.5 mi T: XT W: Short tempo run R: 3 mi F: Rest S: Plan calls for 14 mi, but I'm doing 12ish Su: Weights
Any vents or issues? This training plan is a step up from ones I've done in the past. Man, I have all of the tireds. I gotta start going to bed earlier. And I don't even have kids, sick or not, to take care of, like several of you ladies. I don't know how y'all do it.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? I ran 13 miles last Saturday, and felt pretty great. It wasn't especially fast, but it wasn't especially slow either.

What are you training for? Date? 24-Hour Relay Swim Feb 7-8 and GCBS June 14th.
Training plan for the week? masters Wed night, cold water acclimation Sat. Also maybe some yoga.
Any vents or issues? My hip is bothering me again. It's like something in it is too tight (I can't sit in any cross-legged or butterfly-type pose without pain. Heck, I can't plant my right foot and turn from the hip without pain.) I'm hoping it's nothing but will likely end up at the ortho for evaluation. Dang it.
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? FINALLY got my USMS membership sorted so I can go back to practice. Hooray!
Training plan for the week? Per coach with training group-- M: 'easy' 30min run T: 36min run with speed drills W: rest/yoga Thu: 36min run with 20min tempo Fri: pure rest Sat: long run 60min (hopefully outdoors)
Any vents or issues? I'm so freaking slow, and really worry sometimes whether I'm really ready to train for a HM
Highlights or AW 's from the past week? Got my first official shoe fitting with local running store, now have the Brooks Dyad; somehow having 2 pairs of running shoes at the same time makes me feel like I'm a "real" runner. New treadmill on Friday, feels so awesomely smooth. Also, I usually run/walk a la Galloway. This morning I did 30min block of running including the speed intervals, and did only one 2 minute walking session; still painfully slow, but getting some endurance in there

Everyone runs the same course, crosses the same finish line, and gets the same medal. Speed does not equal readiness
I'm jealous of your new treadmill. I desperately want a replacement.
