The guy across our neigbour's house has a plow truck. He basically plowed his whole driveway straight forward and dumped all the snow in front of our yard on the street. When the city plow comes, it's basically going to spread all that snow in front of us, including our driveway. Dh is pretty angry. He's calling the cops. I'm telling him to NOT call the cops and just talk to the guy when he comes back (most likely gone for plowing jobs). I'm right, aren't I? I'm sure the cops have better things to do.

In our city it's against ordinance to plow/blow your snow into the street at all, so I think calling the cops/city might be an ok response.
Good neighbour relations are really important to me so I try to talk to my neighbours face to face about any issues I have. I find that they are usually quite responsive and there isn't any resentment on either side.

It's illegal here to dump snow in the streets and on neighbors property. I'd try the nice tactic first when he comes back. Since he has a plow it should be an easy fix.

I don't have details but dh says the cop isn't going to do anything. He snapped a pic and looks like a city person is there. This is what it looks like:

This.
and sorry your neighbor doesn't have snow etiquette!
When the cop arrived he said he doesn't see anything, so Dh told him maybe he should get out of his car and take a real good look, lol. Our street hadn't been plowed yet so you could easily see the guy's trail. The cop said he'd call the neighbor, but who knows if he really did. The city plow came before the guy got home.
The cop ended up getting stuck on our street btw. That's why in that pic you see a city pick up truck, bailing him out. Sucka, lol.
If you have a relationship with your neighbor I would first bring it up to him, even though it was fixed so it doesn't happen next time. If no relationship or it happens again I would call the city. There would be a city fine & repayment to the city of the cost of removal if that happened here. Are you / is he new to the neighborhood? Is this the first time it has happened?
Cops usually don't deal with disputes like that, so they might come but can't do anything. You need to call your town. Like the Public Safety people. I would try to go talk to him first. Maybe he just wasn't thinking and the neighborly thing for him to do would be to offer to remove the snow from the end of your drive way.
There have been several times I wanted to call the cops on my neighbors but haven't because I didn't want to deal with the awkwardness of living next door to people I called the cops on.
