I like the baby lights look. And the rose gold, though I think that would look awful on me.
If I had money to spend on hair color regularly, I could see doing something in the link, but right now I get my hair cut about twice a year so fancy hair color ain't happening.
Balayage. It's been around for years and years. It really is wonderful. It's more expensive, but it lasts longer. Cost-wise, balayage is the better deal.
Basically, the artist hand paints your highlights. Then when you go back to get your roots done, they go through your hair, find the previous highlights and continue the painting.
Now, some people thing that is what highlights are, but they are wrong. Highlights grab and dye/bleach in a methodical fashion, regardless of previous lightening.
My hair is so thick, I get highlights and lowlights. It would cost more and be more labor intensive with balayage. BUT.. if you hair if normal thickness.. balayage is literally one of the best dye jobs you can do to it. And I am jealous.
Lol, I was referencing your post earlier, but it cut the tail off on the y & I couldn't remember what she called it.
After I got rid of my blonde hair a few years ago, I got super lazy and cheap about highlights/dyes. Balayage sounds like it'd be good except for the maintenance. I have thick hair, too.
I seriously want to do balayage/"babylights", because I think it looks much better if you accidentally-on-purpose-because-I'm-lazy let it grow out without redoing it.
But I have a metric ton of hair. It would take forevvvver.
The rose gold is the only color there I haven't been and I am kind of liking a lot. Oh and the brassy orange + blonde, no. Just no. It could work for some people but it looks like a crappy lift job to me.
