My dad's surgery was scheduled for this morning at 7:30. He is not out yet. I googled and it should take 1-2 hours if there are no complications.
I don't know if they started on time or if I should be worried. But I'm worried. No news other than he isn't out yet.
Guys, I'm not ready to not have any living parents. I can't do this.
Update: he is out of surgery, in recovery and stable. Thank you all for the vibes. Now to work on not shaking lol. They asked for his name, put me on hold, came back and asked my relation to him and his date of birth and I expected something bad. Will see what SM says in terms of details later.
Hugs, I'm sure everything's fine. Surgeries often start late, especially morning ones, because inevitably, there will be an emergency one that has to be put in first. Can you call and see when he went into surgery?

I'm going to call every hour or so, on my next call I'll ask when he went in and if he was delayed at all.

Hugs! I know it's really hard not to go there, but there are a million reasons why you haven't heard anything yet. Even for H's simple shoulder surgery it was supposed to take two hours and it was over 4 before the doctor came to talk to me.
I hope you get a good update soon. Is "out" defined also as awake? I'm very slow to come out of anesthesia so perhaps that could be adding additional time if your dad is as well.

Good luck.
I'm not sure how this hospital works, but last time my grandma had surgery they were able to tell me she was in post-op and then recovery. The person I spoke to said he was in surgery so I'm not sure.
