Has anyone done this? We are looking at the Grandeur of the Seas this summer going to Bermuda. The ship looks a little older, but it was recently remodeled. What did you think? Any shore excursions that are a must do?

We went on one back in 2009 and I was happy it (especially for the price). My memory is a little hazy, but I know we did one shore excursion to visit caves. I was really impressed with the public transportation system in Bermuda; it was easy to get around the island ourselves, without having to worry about crazy cab drivers etc.

We took the last cruise before that ship was being remodeled. We picked that cruise because it had the most days at sea of our options (and we could get to Baltimore in time without adding an additional hotel night at the port). The only excursion we did was a Bermuda Triangle night cruise, which was cool. We rambled about a little on our own otherwise. We really just needed a week of doing nothing but relaxing so we didn't look into many excursions.
I've done cruises out of three different ports and the Baltimore one was the easiest/nicest of the three.
We've taken that ship out of baltimore to the Bahamas. It's a smaller ship than some of RC's others, but it was just fine. It's easy access for us since we don't have to fly to get there. I would recommend a balcony room though.
Mr. GT's family did a similar trip a few years ago. They went over the summer and it was a national holiday so almost everything was closed in Bermuda. They ended up having to do more excursions though the cruise line than they would have liked because of the holiday.

Very interesting, I'll have to look into this more. Thanks for the heads up!
I wasn't on that ship, but we cruised out of Baltimore this summer and we were very pleased with the overall experience in the port - I thought they were very efficient and ran things well. It's very easy to get into/out of the parking lot there as well.
