Jumping in now before I read all the way to page five, mso excuse me if this was covered.
Buying a ton of crap, like 14 pairs of baby shoes, for a kid is like the calling card of people with not a ton of money to throw around. Obviously not everyone, but yeah in lots of situations I judge it.
The Bump introduced me to way too many idiots who spent any money they got their hands on on esty hair bows and puma track suits for their babies, but claimed they couldn't afford to buy a house or get life insurance.
So no it's not jealousy all the time -- because lots of times they people doing it are kind of trashy assholes who make shitty decisions.
I don't agree with the "trashy assholes" part, but I agree that I see people making shitty financial decisions all the time and I just don't understand it. For example, one of my former co-workers was complaining about not being able to make her car payment one month. A few days later she was buying Uggs for her 3 year old and planning a trip to Disney. Another girl at work was constantly complaining about being in massive debt but just had to have a Gucci diaper bag. I see this all the time.
On the other hand, if you can afford it and buying lots of cute baby shoes and clothes makes you happy, then I say go for it!
This is my point. If you can afford it I see nothing wrong with buying something others consider wasteful. Automatically saying you judge and that are assholes is ridiculous. We all have stuff we don't need or spend in ways others think are silly. If you can afford it who cares? If you can't then yes judge away.
I'm dying to take a tour of the sriracha factory. I don't even like sriracha. But I think it would be cool!
That would be cool! Did you see all the legal issues they were having due to the emission of sriracha fumes from the packing facility in socal? Apparently the neighbors say it reeks in their neighborhood!!
Yes which is funny because that factory has been there a long time and all of a sudden it's a problem? I didn't quite get that.
I don't like being financially responsible. I had to shuffle the Disney money to accommodate our unexpected trip to Sacramento. Now we have to postpone Disney until I can shuffle the money back. I will never go back to having credit card debt, but it was a nice though for the milisecond in which it was a thought.

Yep exactly! We can totally afford our kid's crap and it makes me happy that we can donate it later and spread the wealth. But we all know people who live beyond their means and that is totally different. And my DS doesn't have 30 pairs of shoes or anything and I'm not butt hurt either it depends on whether it is within a person's means how I feel about it.

So if I can afford a house and 30 shoes I am good? And no my kid doesn't have 30 pairs of shoes but the same could be said for two young kids having their own iPads too.
My kids have iPads. I would be a trashy asshole if they had iPads and we didn't have life insurance or a home, yes.
Ava had like 15 pairs of shoes before she was born. I didn't buy any of them, but I am sure people assumed I did because I'll be damned if I'm not guilty of buying the shit out of headbands and bows. Literally the day we found out she was a girl I placed a big fat Etsy order. We have a house and insurance and food in the fridge (well, usually) but I think splurging on useless yet adorable crap occasionally is kind of awesome.
FTR I am not judging iPads hell we own 4. I am saying I think it's funny that we can judge people that can't afford shit but not those that can.
I judge everyone!! Lol. iPads don't bother me as much as 15 pairs of kids shoes though. The manufacturing process is a little more ethical at least. I just don't see it as wasteful as a shitton of clothes/shoes ending up in a landfill.
Also I am soooooooo bored of being in the hospital. W seems to be getting better, but he's here until at least tomorrow. I've watched too much tv, read half of a book and painted my nails. Forced "leisure" sucks when you are watching your sick kid struggle to breathe.

Oh I hate the hospital. Do you have anyone to come trade off for a little bit so you can walk around and get fresh air? I get stir crazy super quick in the dark, dreary hospital eating crap food.

My mom came earlier and I went to target. It was the first time I was outside since wed afternoon. It was a glorious hour.
I have a little one on the spectrum, and it just hits close to home sometimes. KWIM?
In all fairness, I haven't given it much of a chance, but watching real life is hard...I prefer some crime drama that keeps my heart racing. LOL!!
I felt the same way about Christina getting breast cancer. I couldn't handle it and quit because it brought up stuff with my mom and her breast cancer fight. never want back.
