Just curious how their new UPP pricing has affected you. Is there anyway "around" the system? Did you switch lens brands?
I am so bummed after my optometrist visit today. First of all for some reason, I only paid $35 the past two years b/c my insurance picked up some of the costs (the eye exam portion of the visit, not the contact lens fitting). Today's exam was $115. I had no idea vision coverage changed
Last year I spent roughly $150 on Acuvue Oasys with Vision Direct for an annual supply. This year with the UPP pricing it will be $220
If the point of the UPP pricing is to help price protect optometrists' offices then I think they are still failing miserably. I will still be ordering online b/c it will save me Sales Tax and I can still get at least some cash back through ebates.
I have GPC (which I knew, or at least figured). Not surprisingly the optometrist suggested considering dailies depending on how I do with the rx steroid cream he called in for me. Dailies will cost me $508

I go through Costco to order my contact lenses. Since they (Vistakon) both raised their price and also discontinued the minimum ordering, Costco gave out gift cards as a sort of rebate to me, since they could no longer offer a discount of any sort. I thought it was nice of them to do that.
I wear Dailies. You'd have to pry them from my cold, dead hands.
Yeah, my optometrist gave me a 10 day supply to use while I'm using the steroid solution. I am sure I will love them, but that's a lot of $$ to us right now Sobs. What brand do you use?
I haven't ordered since the pricing change, but I always get contacts from visiondirect.com. It's owned by drugstore.com so it's legit. It always has coupon codes and a huge ebates.

No more coupon codes since the pricing change They have a 10% on Ebates right now...I can't imagine that is no longer applicable, but I'm not sure on that one. Sucks

I just tried the coupon code that vision direct sent me and it worked on acuvue. Took 20% off.

Or was it an acuvue 2 product? I don't think those were impacted by UPP. It was mostly Oasys. My eyes are jacked so I can't use the 2s.
I switched to Biofinity last year and I'm really happy with them.
I once switched from Biofinity to Acuvue and I hated them. My eyes were constantly irritated and my vision was worse.
I wonder if this affects Biofinity pricing? Last year I ordered them from Vision Direct. They're still about $40/box but it's worth it to not feel like I have sand in my eyes.

My doctor ordered the boxes that have 12 in them over the box of 6, and it saved money. He has me wearing a pair for a month, though. It was still around 150 for 24 lenses total :\
regulated minimum pricing you can't sell our product for less than $x and still be an "authorized dealer" like all iPods have to cost the same and sometimes discount stores can't say they have (for example) Nike sneakers in their ads, they have to say "come check out the shipment from a major athletic company we just received"

I recently switched to the Aquaclear/Biofinity and they're 1000x better. I still have slight problems with irritation and dry eye but I felt like I had glass in my eye a couple hours into my day when I used the Acuvue. So happy their pricing wasn't affected.

Biofinity is made by CooperVision and not Acuvue so likely if the price was only for Acuvue it should not affect Biofinity.

I've been wearing Acuvue for years and this started happening to me recently. My eyes are so red and irritated within a few hours of wearing them. I'll have to try the Aquaclear.
