A few weeks ago I noticed some of our mail coming in addressed to the name of a business. I googled the business and it looks like it is registered in our state (PA) and our address is listed as the business address. I have the registration number and was going to call the state agency in charge of business registrations tomorrow, but am wondering how big a deal I should make of this. The business doesn't have a website or anything, the only info I can find is the registration linking it to my address. Would you make a big deal of this or am I being overly paranoid?

I had that happen before. The business was owned by the son of the previous owners of our house. It was no big deal and easily fixed. I think you're wise to figure out what's going on, though.

This is what I'm thinking. I can't see a name associated with the business but it looks like it was registered one year before we bought the house. We've been here for three years so it's a bit odd that the mail is only showing up now. I'll call tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully it isn't too much of a bother.
Just a side note, I had to register a business name (with both my county, state, federal, and checking account) when I worked as a 1099 contractor. Marketing companies bought my information and even though I never used the business outside of getting a check and paying taxes. Even though I closed the "business" years ago my address/business name is still out there with the marketing companies. Very similar to getting unwanted junk catalogs and sweepstakes offers.
Yes. It wouldn't be freak out territory for me, but I would be concerned about the future annoyance of people trying to serve lawsuits at your address and otherwise having to deal with mail and visitors and such.
