restaurant recs for Madrid and Paris

Looking for restaurant recommendations in these 2 cities. Nothing fancy, super spendy or solely seafood. Just casual dining.

On our first trip to Paris I got a good Paris rec from someone's blog on this board, so I thought I'd ask you all again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Madrid and is about 15 walk from Retiro Park. It is about 20 euros for a meal. Not sure if that is what you were looking to spend.

In Madrid, we really liked Casa Mingo. Really good rotisserie chicken.

I don't have any real restaurant recs, but I loved El Tigre tapas bar in Madrid. As long as you buy euro beers they will keep feeding you. It's awesome. We are enough that we didn't need a separate dinner.

I've never met a tapa I didn't like in Madrid. However, it appears that my favorite non-jamon place in Madrid has closed since I was last there in spring of 2013. (Motha, on Calle de Santa Maria, in case it reopens.)

In Paris, there are so very many places I love. Two great bistros are Café de la Nouvelle Mairie in the 5th arr. and Les Garcons in the 6th arr. If you fancy a savory crepe, head to the Rue du Montparnasse (not to be confused with Blvd. du Montparnasse) and try just about any of the creperies there. My favorite one is Creperie de Quimper, but most on that street are good.

Oh, and Rose Bakery on the Rue des Martyrs is another great place, although not particularly French-y.

And, finally, don't be like v and make sure you get some bread from Poilane while in Paris. (Sorry, v, you'll just have to go back!)

Cuisine du bar is a great light lunch or breakfast. We ate there almost everyday as it was directly across from our apartment. It's Poilane's restaurant so the bread is guaranteed delicious.

Pain Vin Fromage if you like fondue or they have wonderful cheese plates

In Madrid:
we ate at a lot of markets & a 2 star Michelin restaurant that was fantastic. Unfortunately my friend planned the whole trip since she was living there so I cannot remember the name even though I just tried to look it up.
