Why does the NFL hate us? I am just so disgusted by the NFL and the fact that they seem so bent on fining our players, accusing our players of bad things, and yet the Patriots get away with cheating.

Yea I'm annoyed with it all - I'm staying away from all the FB comments too because it is getting old, fast. I just wish they would leave Marshawn alone. I'm glad he stood up to the media today. On the flip side, I understand the requirements to speak to them in his contract, but it still gets annoying.
I'm not nervous for the game, just excited and can't wait! Go Hawks!

I love football, but the hypocrisy of the NFL is almost enough for me to stop watching. Their handling of the domestic violence issues, their randomness of leveling fines, the fact that for awhile they were going to profit off of a picture of Marshawn grabbing his crotch - after they fined him, etc.
I'm a little nervous for the game. Although it may sound lame but I'm just excited they're back in the Super Bowl. With how things were going at the start of the season I thought people would start saying "See? Last year was a fluke. Seahawks really aren't as good as they played in 2013."
However I may be most nervous about our one Patriots fan who is coming over to our Super Bowl party. He will be 1 out of 34 (well, 16 are kids) but he can be a bit obnoxious when it comes to his love of the Patriots.

I feel like I should be used to all the Seahawks hate by now, but it still bugs me. I am especially annoyed by all the smack talk nationally about all Hawks fans being bandwagoners, eff that noise. I am hella nervous about Sherman's son being due, I hope he chooses to bake for another week or two!

There are a lot of bandwagoner fans, but what team that is Super Bowl bound doesn't have a lot of people jump on the bandwagon?? I honestly think most people think Seahawks fans are bandwagoners only because THEY never paid attention to the Seahawks before. They figure if they weren't paying attention none of us were either. Never mind the fact that the Seahawks have sold out every game since the 2003 season (I understand other teams have sold out WAY more games than that, but still evidence that MANY people liked the Seahawks prior to the 2012 season). And this is an as long or longer streak than many other teams in the NFL (including Colts, Panthers, Cardinals, Chargers, Rams, Raiders, Lions, and on, and on, and on).
I am so over listening to all of the Seahawks hate. I am kind of glad I am so slammed with school I will only really be able to focus on it this weekend.
I am so sad I couldn't go see them off like I did last year though
... The local news? That seems like incredibly bad form if they want to retain viewers.
Also, continuously glad I don't watch the news.
No, online news sources, articles that are reporting on what the NFL is doing.
Such as considering a fine for Marshawn Lynch cause he wore a Beast Mode hat to a media conference.
Or the fact they did a drug test against Earl Thomas cause he reported to feel great today, even though he got injured in the last game and they suspected him of using drugs.
But y'know, still hasn't commented, fined, or discussed any measures against the Patriots, despite overwhelming evidence that people with far more time than I and more passion than I have dug up about the Patriots fumble rate since 2009. XD
Or no kind of censure for a former Seahawk, now Patriot for telling the media and his teammates to play to injure Sherman and Thomas and explaining just how to injure them.

If it makes you feel any better, when Alex Smith was still with the Niners, he got fined for wearing a Giants hat to a post-game press conference.
Marshawn Lynch is being kind of a dick, though. Like he is literally not doing part of his job. I will happily talk to the media on his behalf if he wants to give me half his salary.

Not local, national, NFL, and online.
Lynch fined for not talking to media, grabbing his crotch, told he can't play if he wears gold cleats, threatened w/ $500,000 if he doesn't go to SB media day, some in media trashing him for not answering questions, might fine him for wearing Beast Mode hat to media day, no fines for Pats cheating (yet).
There is also the normal Sherman is all talk, Baldwin is angry, our receivers are mediocre/pedestrian/a'ight, we're all bandwagon fans, and the general favoring of the other team -- how great Brady, Gronk, Revis are, how is Seattle gonna be able to deal with them (not how are they gonna deal with us).

I've been a West Coast sports fan for a long time. East Coast Bias is real.

Oh and I can get behind the whole crotch grabbing thing as fine worthy.
But then to turn around and sell it for 150 dollars on the official NFL merch store. LOL.
If there's one thing the NFL knows, it's how to make a profit. *eye roll*

Disagree. I 'get' that they are required to talk to the media, but let's not pretend that's for any other reason than that the NFL wants to make a ton of money. And I do think it's stupid bc his job is actually to play football. He's doing his job really well and THAT'S what he's getting paid for. Him talking to the media makes more money for the NFL, not for him, maybe you should try to get the commissioner's job

If it's in his contract, it's part of his job. It's a stupid requirement, but so is the part of my job where I have to plan a major event every year. It doesn't mean I don't have to do it.

I understand that argument, I just disagree that he's being a dick and my point is that I support him refusing.
The the irony is that they aren't interviewing every player in the NFL, every week and putting it all on the news. It's not about accurate reporting and making sure all the players fulfill their contract. It's that they want this player and they want to make a statement. It would be like saying everyone in your office has to plan the major event and then not actually requiring everyone to do it except you because you're the prettiest. Obviously he's an important part of the team, but they only care because it's him that's refusing.
And constantly fining Lynch for everything while profiting from the crotch grab they fined him for & nothing happening to the Pats for cheating, drug testing Baldwin b/c he said he's feeling fine after injury.

This is a stupid question, but isn't this the cost of playing in the NFL? It's pretty much a dictatorship and everyone has to bend to their whims, no matter how stupid or unfair?
Yes, its a dictatorship but I, the outspoken non-carer of football, have even taken notice the past 2 weeks about how it seems they are SEEKING reasons to fine or harass our players. It would be one thing if it were across the board stupid unfair dictatorship but, to this non deep payer-attentioner, it comes across as they are going after the Hawks specifically with a vendetta of some kind.

If the football ignorer notices. ..it's not just in our heads
