LOL. I could fix everything wrong in my house if I could just get a whole new room too.
And my LR currently boasts a floating rug. I planned it that way and I LOVE it. I was trying to section off an area a bit and add some color so I think it works. I also think some rooms are just too small for a rug to touch all the things.

The nursery rug is "too small", too. But dammit, I loved that rug and designed the entire room based on it. lol Some rules are made to be broken.
I rolled out a bigger rug I had in another room just to see for size and it was just way too overwhelming and big. Sometimes I think smaller rugs look more like a framed picture and it just gives a more cozy/relaxed feel, kwim?
LOL I love some of these. Tangled electric cords- Solution: unplug and put in a box. LOL LOL LOL
Then these two are just "Huh???":
"Improper lighting"?
Yes, this lighting one is weird. That looks like fine lighting to me. It just looks like the renovation was done before the newer under cabinet lighting (shown in the after) was popular / available.

I gather they think the kitchen is too bright (that's why there's champagne out, for a serene evening).
Yeah, not a great article. I need help w/the furniture pushed against the walls. I'm trying to fight this in my living room. I'll post a floor plan eventually and ask for suggestions.
ETA: I'm more offended by that kitchen layout. That small box w/peninsula is tough. I much prefer my galley, where I can pivot between stove, fridge & sink with ease.

I have a floating rug too, although not as bad as that picture. I don't like when a rug overwhelms the room. I didn't pay 15k for new floors to hide them all LOL
