Once again I am the only person I know not doing a Summer School. My oldest will have done tutoring instead. The thought of rushing her out the door for 6 weeks to sit behind a desk seems wrong. She needs to decompress! Oh, we will also do VBS
Def going to do swimming lessons for DS (he hated mommy and me and he turns 2 in March) and he will likely start part time preschool in July woo hoo!
ETA H and I decided we will also try to plan fun stuff for Sundays to do as a family-our mental list so far includes The Getty Museum, LACMA, the zoo, a family farm and possibly Catalina.
DS's preschool has a summer session (6 weeks) so he will go to that - 3 mornings a week and it's a play based school so he loves it. Other than that swimming, gymnastics, and a toddler sport class where they do a little bit of all different ball sports. Besides school all these classes are once or twice a week for an hour so it breaks up the day for us. We have four weddings and a baby due this summer so it's going to be a crazy summer!

DD and DS will go to a 2 week swim camp in mid June. They each play tball and softball from April-July.
Aside from that I iust plan on hanging out at the pool and playing tourist throughtout the city. It'll be much easier this summer since DS2 will be 1.5.
They don't really have sports or anything through the summer here. There are fall, winter and spring sessions for most sports (AAU runs though). Gymnastics and dance run the same as the school year. Lots of camps though. Most are 1 week long.
Fortunately we have a recreation department in my town that runs a summer camp for school aged kids for 6 weeks from 9a-3p. So both my kids will be able to do that. My oldest loves it. This will be my little guys first summer and he is so excited. he wanted to stay so badly last year. They basically play sports, games, and all kinds of activities and do field trips. Last year they went to this outdoor splash park and museum, and to the town pool a couple times. It's a nice thing for them. It hurts my wallet but hey, it's best for them.
Weekends we will hits parks and the beaches, go hiking, swimming at my sisters pool, ride bikes, get ice cream etc.
Swim lessons for all three, Taekwondo for both girls (L started this week). We have 9 classes available each week, so that can keep us busy. Lots of library and I'm thinking about passes to the Arboretum this year.

Things I am planning on signing up for: swim lessons vbs dance summer bible study childcare program
She will still have speech 2x a week. I considered doing a zoo camp, but I think we will just spend time at the zoo together and with friends. There will also be lots of time at the splash pad, beach and park. I usually hit up the library story time and puppet wagon most weeks.

Do you have DS enrolled in the Nexgen program? Free admission for kiddo and 1 parent to LACMA

No I hadn't heard of it but thank you for telling me about it could be a good thing to have since we are not terribly far from LACMA! Cool
Last summer dd took summer session dance lessons which was one day a week for part of the summer. She also stayed in preschool either two or three days a week even though I wasn't working so I coukd get planning done. We usually went to the beach one day a week and either Sea World or the zoo once a week too. We will probably do swim lessons for at least one two week cycle too.

Ds is going to do baseball this spring, then we are hopefully joining the community rec center for their awesome pool this summer and fingers crossed both will do swim lessons. I also plan on doing a gymnastics camp for them if they have one that they can both go to at the same days/times. Ds does a 'superhero' gymnastics/parkour class and he LOVES it. Dd watches the other gymnastics classes each week and begs to do it, so I figured we'd try out a camp this summer and if she's really into it, she might do gymnastics instead of dance next year (although ffc, I'd be a bit crushed...she enjoys dance class but isn't really into it, will never show me at home what she does in class, but seeing her in that little dance tutu melts my heart).
