"Don't be mad at me for speaking the truth about vaccines," Wolfson said in a telephone interview with The Washington Post. "Be mad at yourself, because you're, frankly, a bad mother. You didn't ask once about those vaccines. You didn't ask about the chemicals in them. You didn't ask about all the harmful things in those vaccines....People need to learn the facts."
Wow...what a POS. It's bad enough for a doctor to have an unfounded, dangerous position on life-saving vaccines. It's even worse for this piece of garbage to cast shame on parents for vaccinating.
ETA: Obviously we don't need to debate this, but I welcome your GIFS, comments, and whatnot - happy Friday!
“I’m a big fan of what’s called paleo-nutrition, so our children eat foods that our ancestors have been eating for millions of years…. That’s the best way to protect.”
Yeah those cavemen with their 22 year life expectancy really had it figured out
If we were living in the Paleolithic Era. As it stands, he really needs to go fuck himself. What med school gave this idiot a degree? Any chance they can admit their mistake and take it back?
"“This quote-unquote ‘outbreak’ has infected 70 people who are quote-unquote ‘infected,’ ” he said.
Seriously, I sent it to a coworker and realize it seriously reads like an Onion article. Even the headline "revels in his notoriety."
When he says "only 70" people have been infected in a couple of 300 million, and questions the media reaction....Mmmm, wonder why the infection rates are not higher?
Could somebody please infect this man with smallpox?
He said viruses — not vaccines — are a part of the natural world. “Unfortunately, they mean that some people get sick and some people die,” he said. “But the reality is that we can’t inject our children with chemicals.”
Is he really telling us that death is the better option?

Yeah, that's pretty glib - maybe he's a psychopath?
On personally sad note, my Aunt died of colon cancer almost 6 years ago to the day. She was 51. It was treatable but she went the holistic route and tried to fight it with natural remedies, diet, and exercise. I wonder if her husband and kids ever think about the fact that she might be here if she had surgery and chemo.
“We should be getting measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, these are the rights of our children to get it,”
Um, no.
is it also my child's right to run into the street and get hit by a car? Am I violating her rights by restraining her in a stroller or picking her up when she starts to run toward the street?

Bacteria--not cooked food and clean water--are part of the natural world. Unfortunately, they mean that some people get sick and some people die. But the reality is that we can't treat our water and cook the salmonella out of our chicken.
Sorry y'all.
I need to leave this thread, I'm getting too worked up

Um, no.
Amazing that he didn't include polio on that list. Do they not have the right to also be paralyzed or lose cognitive function?
My father tells me about being a child and being terrified of contracting polio. Doesn't that just sound warm and nostalgic?
A bunch of the anti-vax people don't really believe in polio. They think the widespread paralysis was caused by pesticide use or some shit. Because everyone knows that chemicals are the only thing that can really hurt you.

JFC. MIL's partner had polio as a child, and now has post-polio syndrome. How do they explain post-polio syndrome, then?

I assume they claim it is the lingering effect of pesticide poisoning? I don't know.
I think they acknowledge that there is/was a polio virus but claim that it is a relatively harmless virus that was "activated" or somehow made worse by interacting with DDT. (Keep in mind, these are the same people who think autism is triggered or activated by various chemicals--the belief in environmental factors triggering or exacerbating disease seems to be a common theme.)

Survival of the fittest, yo!
Viruses are fun! Researchers should probably just stop working on a vaccine for Ebola, whats the point? Getting that virus is definitely better than injecting yourself with chemicals.
this doc sounds like my bil .. the writer wouldn't be a DC (doctor of chiropractic) rather than an M.D. ?
The article says his wife is a chiro who "opened his eyes" to this nonsense
Yes, that seems to be the case. Here's his website, where he goes on about how his amazing wife Heather the Chiropractor changed his life. Oh, Heather.

This article just makes me angry.
Wasn't there actually some article circulated during the "outbreak" claiming that massive quantities of vitamin C can cure ebola? See, no vaccine needed. Just watch your nutrition.
