So pissed. DS1's birthday party is in a few hours and DH's side the family all just cancelled. There is a lot of history but they are basically saying it's our fault anyway for bullshit reasons (like us canceling thanksgiving travels 2 years ago when we were puking and other ridiculousness).
I'm sorry, that sucks. To retaliate against a child for, well, anything, is pretty much the lowest of lows. I'd tell them to take a long walk off a short pier and seriously reconsider if these people are worthy of having my child in their life.
So I bought Uncrustables. DS likes PB&J, but has been refusing it lately. I thought if it was sort of different, he might give it a try again.
I go to pull one out of the freezer at lunchtime. Check the box for how long to throw it in the microwave.
You have to pull them out of the freezer 8-10 HOURS before so they can thaw! I thought the Uncrustable would be so I could be lazy. I have to plan to be lazy 8-10 hours ahead of time?!
Are u sure? I thought the box I had said that they thaw in 30 minutes or so on the counter. I ended up giving that box to our church's after school program for snacks so I never ate one myself so I can't say for sure.
Celery??? Interesting. I had a bowl of cereal with coconut almond milk. It helped a bit. Now I want an english muffin. lol.
It sounds weird, I know. I was out for dinner once with a friend who was pregnant at the time and she mentioned to our server that she was having heartburn. The server brought her a plate of celery and my friend said it helped some.
Valentines photo session was a bit hairy. DD cried for most of it but was pleasent at the end. DS ended up scratching his face on the way over so badly that it was bleeding when I got him out of the car, good thing she can photo shop that out. We also just ended up doing them lying down on a white blanket so not very Valentinesy, but oh well it was cheap.
DH continues to call it Tommee Tipple rather than Tommee Tippee despite me correcting him multiple times. I think he does it to annoy me now.
We used dandruff shampoo for DS's cradle cap today and now I'm irrationally fearful that we have poisoned him even though his pediatrician recommended it.
DD keeps taking her diaper off every single time she sleeps, peeing all over everything. We are down to 2 crib sheets. She takes it off like panties and duct tape isn't keeping it on. I need to dig out the old sleep sacks and put them on backwards or something. IT IS MAKING ME FUCKING FURIOUS TO HAVE TO CLEAN UP PEE CRIB AND CHILD TWICE A DAY.
Daycare's solution to naptime strippers is footie pj's, one size up, on backward (you need the size up so the legs can twist around). Just over the clothes.
I was going to post this as a FB status but thought better of it:
To be recorded for the next POTY awards Me to E, as she climbs on the back of my chair: What do you want? Go read your new book. I buy you stuff so you will leave me alone… Me to G: Isn't that how it works? G to Me: Mmmmhmmm, I think so.
I tried making macarons and they did not turn out I've made them successfully before, but haven't had luck with my last 2 batches. I know exactly what I did wrong, but I don't feel like doing it all again.
Giving climbing a try this afternoon! I'm completely inexperienced so I'm queuing up with little kids for the ropes I need. Lol. My friend tells me my legs are going to feel like hell tomorrow. Yay!
Ugh, B just barfed. I'm pretttty sure it was just from gagging on some raw cauliflower but apparently I have a bit of PTSD after last week's barf-fest 2015.
I cannnnot miss work on Monday. Ugh.
I am praying for a snow day. That 35cm better hit after 4am.
I went to Target today. Turns our our location was the busiest/most sales in all of Ontario. So apparently it will be the last to close, they are actually still getting in deliveries.

I've never heard of brownie batter doughnuts before this thread. I know where I will be going next week!
Currently nursing DS before bed after his 1st birthday party today. We had quite a houseful and he got tons stuff. I've barely recovered from Christmas! He has now gotten 13 wooden puzzles for his birthday, lol. No kid need that many right? Pretty much none are returnable though.
redheadk Ugh, that sucks. I've also heard about the backwards zip-up sleeper that was mentioned but another thing I've seen is putting duct tape over the diaper tabs to reinforce and hopefully stop little hands. I don't know if it actually helps but I have read it a couple times!

[bro] I have have been done with them for a while. DH is struggling because he really wishes things were different, today may have changed that.
By the time the party started, 50% of the guests had cancelled. I'm glad DS1 is young enough that he didn't realize. He had tons of fun but we have SO much food leftover. I had ordered enough for us to have some leftovers but definitely didn't factor in that many people canceling.

We did backwards sleepers for a long stretch of time when DD was doing that. It was a PITA, but it was less of a PITA than dealing with a diaper-less child.

Baby was up from 5:30-7, got him back to sleep and went back to sleep myself. At 8:30, one of DD's friends' moms called about a play date and woke me up. Waaaaaa!
She also sounded really surprised that I was "still" sleeping. Uh, is it me or is 8:30 pretty early to call someone on a Saturday?
I would say that you were napping vs. "still sleeping" since you were up from 5:30-7. Small point, but I see it as different from sleeping in.
I keep my cell phone on silent all the time except when M is at daycare because MIL has a bad habit of texting early in the morning. I also have the ringer on the bedroom location of our home phone turned off (living room phone ringer is on). DON'T INTERRUPT MY SLEEP.
My fucking MIL sends text messages at 4:30am. Nothing important, just a "have a great day" or "look what I saw on Facebook" crap. I set my Do Not Disturb on my phone to not allow text messages from her until 9am
