I just got some quotes and need to make a decision. We both work and have a baby. I'm hoping that in addition to not having to do the deep cleaning, it will help us be more disciplined about picking things up/keeping our house neat.
Ours comes on Thursdays when the boys have soccer. I buzz her up and then I leave within 10 minutes of them getting here. She sends me a text when she is done cleaning. We don't really have anything that valuable that I care about being stolen.
I fired one team because she kept breaking stuff and not cleaning that well. My current one is awesome.
I pay our nanny to sweep and mop inbetween visits since the floors get gross. We have almost 3 year olds and dark floors. They show everything.
Yes. I work full-time, but from home and H is a firefighter so gone for days on end. We have 2 kids. A housecleaner is a necessity here. Especially since H is so picky about the house.
Having her come every other Friday to clean, takes the burden off of me and it makes him happy.

Only in my dreams. I SAH and DH works full time. I'm hoping that next year when 3 of the 4 kids are in school full time it will be a little easier to maintain everything, but we'll see.
We don't have anyone but it's just two adults, working FT but in a 680 sq ft 1 bedroom. We cleaned this morning and it took maybe 30 minutes.
I'm not even sure I'll get one when we have more space and kids. My mother cleaned houses for a few years and she taught me what clean looked like. My parents have had a cleaning lady for years now and they never do a great job.

Yes, it's invaluable to us. We have two kids, four pets and a 2,500 square foot house in a MCOL. We pay $75 bi weekly. DH works FT and I work PT (20 hours)
We have a cleaning lady that used to come bi weekly, but we had to cut back to monthly this last week. DH and I both work full time, I have about an hour committee and dh is an hour and a half. We have a four year old and two teenagers (not full time, they are my step kids and stay with their grandmother half time). We have about 2200 sqft with about another 1000 in the finished basement. We were paying $100 for bi weekly
Sure. I did housecleaning when I first arrived in California. It was a good, easy job for a young person to do. Now that I'm an older person, I would love to get this off my plate. When we win the lottery.
We used to have dual incomes, cleaning was 2x a month, $105 per visit.
Right now H is doing short term consulting projects and doesn't have normal hours. I'm looking for a job. This is one of the last things that I want to cut out, so we are down to once per month right now for $160 per visit
Yes. 1 adult works full time+, I adult part time, and 3 kids.
Our cleaner comes every other week for 2 hours. She focuses on deep cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, floors, etc. The company charges $35/hr, but we negotiated down to $30/hr. it's $120/month usually and worth every penny.
