That sounds about what our local barre place charges. I don't go there, because that's more than an individual membership to my gym, and there's WAY more variety at the gym. And I guess they limit the number of people who can attend one class session at my local one, so if you show up, you may be shut out, and still have to pay the membership fee. Eff that.

My studio is $99/month for unlimited classes if you sign a contract for 12 months. Otherwise, it's $20/class or you can buy packages of classes. My contract is up in May and the new pricing is $129.
$100 doesn't seem bad, especially if it's for unlimited classes. I think barre is kind of like yoga or crossfit in terms of pricing. I pay $120 a month for unlimited crossfit classes. I can't quite remember what the yoga studio is since I just do drop in classes, but something like $150, I think.

They offer it once a week at my Y. I'm hoping they add more, I've only been going a couple weeks but it's apparently been full every week since they started it and several people have requested more be added

seriously bab, you've mentioned a number of times joining a gym/fitness stuff. My family membership to my gym is $200/mo, for TONS of different types of unlimited classes, childcare included, and an indoor and outdoor pool. You don't have to lock yourself into one type of exercise for nearly that much, and then pay more to do another type.
Is there a Lifetime, or other athletic club near you? Check them out.
Ranges from $22-25 per class. Slightly cheaper if you buy a package.
I pay a shitload for a gym membership so I can take pilates, barre, spin, yoga, etc. for "free" on top of my usual treadmill runs and the pool. Its cheaper this way.

My problem is I get bored so easily with the gym I belong to (Planet Fitness). There are a ton of LA Fitness locations popping up all over but I twitch slightly at the $40/month price tag when I pay $10/month for Planet Fitness. There is an LA Fitness within walking distance to my house but I never signed up because H used to work such crazy hours I never would have been able to use it for the classes. Now he has a slightly less crazy work schedule and I am starting to think about upgrading my fitness membership. $100/month is out of my range though. It's definitely too much money for me to spend on a gym membership.

I would definitely get bored at Planet Fitness. I need group fitness classes, because I HATE just using machines. I feel you there. Does the $40/month cover group classes you'd be interested in? Because that's definitely not unreasonable for a gym membership. I think anywhere that has instructors will cost more than just machines in a room, you know?
My family bought a membership to Family Fitness (now 24 Hour Fitness) when I was in high school. It's $4 a month. I had to upgrade to the "sport" membership a few years ago and the guy nearly fell out of his chair when he saw my rate. Now I pay $14. I'm NEVER quitting that place!
i don't think they have barre, though. I should check.

The Daily Method Barre classes by me are $100 unlimited classes for new students for 1 month. Then $140 or $125 per month unlimited depending on how long you signed up for.
I pay $99/mo plus $50/mo for unlimited childcare. I LOVE my gym and it's completely changed my life. It's worth every penny to me. I walk there from my house, the childcare is great, barre classes, Bodypump, lots of variety, no treadmills.
In addition, I do a really hard 6 week training class and it's $144 extra. So every other month it's a $300 direct debit
