I have finally decided to be brave and attempt my first quilt, but I have no idea how to pick the fabrics. Any suggestions? I'm going to do a basic block quilt with 5 prints. I've been playing around on fabric.com but nothing looks right to me.
I would probably do a charm pack or jelly roll. Another option is to find a line you like and pick from that. Or pick one print you LOVE then find four coordinating fabrics the pick up certain colors in the main one. And my aunt just told me and I thought it was good advice, keep creams with creams and whites with whites.

Goo to a quilting store and pick a main fabric. Tell an associate that you are making your first quilt and ask for help picking out the other fabrics. Someone will be more than happy to help!
