Just watched the commercial (was prepping some of dinner for guests and missed it). Gross. And they were pussies for not including loaded guns in the home.

I know it's almost 3:00 in the morning, but I want to revisit this observation. About the fact that guns were not shown. The ad was supposed to (ostensibly, that is) force a conversation about how to be safer because accidents are the number one cause of death for children. Where to gun deaths rank on that list of accidental deaths? Before or after drowning in a bath tub? Before or after poisoning? Hey Nationwide. Let's see you force the REAL hard conversation.
And gun safety tips are glaringly missing from their safety website too. There is some good info there and I think the site is well intended but without mentioning guns it's almost a joke.
I'm confused by the people who are confused by the Nissan commercial.
Please explain it to me like I am dumb...because I apparently am. They were going for the cry...I think. Dude, I didn't get it. Dad is absentee, but in the end comes around so son accepts him...unlike in the song where he doesn't.
I hope sushi enjoyed her corn chowder! The sweet corn ice cream was AMAZEBALLS. mr.sushi is still here and will back me up on that.
The corn chowder was amazing. And probably full of butter. Mr sushi told me all about the ice cream. Which is saying a lot because I bought him his first cookie butter ice cream last week.
Agreed. You can search the internets for other clips of him talking.
I was thinking about this and realized that the actors who do the best with the Boston accent (Ben Affleck for instance) have to slur it down. I'm a transplant from 30 years ago - but this is my best advice to anyone trying to imitate it. Jonathan Kraft was choked up - the Pats *really* wanted to win the Superbowl in 2012 for his wife Myra who had died of cancer in 2011 and didn't do it. And, he always talks like that as I said.

Right, and if you look at the clip I posted earlier in this thread of "Im the locker room guy" you can hear the accents (including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, etc).
