I just did this for my best friend, and it was really super emotional and had a sense of finality and mourning I wasn't expecting at all. Big, huge hugs. Wine helps. I'm sorry, honey. You are a tremendous and generous friend.
Thanks everyone. I know it's silly to keep everything just in case we change our mind. I appreciate knowing others are attached to the "stuff" too.
Southwest destroyed out graco infant seat during our Christmas trip. I started crying when I realized it was totaled and had to be tossed. It brought both my babies home from the hospital, and now it was just getting chucked in a bin. (Obviously I'm still a little emotional about it) I think it's completely normal to get attached to your babies stuff, but you did a wonderful thing!
Hugs. It is so hard. I gave a few boxes of clothes away after William but then I lost heart and am still hoarding everything even though we have no space.
It's so hard to give stuff away but so nice of you to save them having to buy everything. You can always buy stuff later or somebody might do what you did for them and give you stuff if your situation changes.
