UGH. As the day has gone on, my "sort of sore" has progressed into "holy god why does my leg hurt so much." My right IT band and hamstrings are not happy at all. I'm going to foam roll like crazy when I get home and as much as I can. I might even get an extra to keep in the office. I will be PISSED if this continues. I have been so excited to get back to running.
On the other hand, my PT was right to tell me not to run today. Hopefully I'll be able to go to spin class tomorrow and get my miles in on Saturday.
No worries, pixy0stix. I figured that's what you meant.
I have now gone to my chiro, snuck in for a trigger point massage, and am still miserable. I have an appointment at the university med clinic, since I hate my PCP and they were raging assholes when I called. Normally I'd try and ride this crap out, but I need to get on a plane tomorrow. I want drugs.

I've had a setback in exercise, unfortunately. My doctor is about 99% sure I'm going to have labral tear repair surgery on my hip. I had surgery on the other hip in 2008. So, I've just been really careful about my food intake and actually lost another 5.5 pounds in the past couple of weeks, so that has felt good. I'm only about 26 pounds from goal now, so I'm excited about that.
I went to ballet class last Friday, walked 6 miles Sunday and worked out, walked 5 miles yesterday and Monday and I'm still sore from everything. I also started eating better.
Planning on doing something tomorrow, maybe a DVD since it will be raining, and then ballet class on Friday. Taking today as a rest day since I've been so sore.

I'm searching around the internets and I'm not having any luck with a home routine. I do see a few gym ones, but I'd have to modify the life from them to make them work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
New Rules of Lifting for Women
Does it give you a set routine to follow? And I can do it with stuff I have at home (dumbbells, a ball and a step)?

deck of cards...gpw is good at developing work outs.

Because I've met me.
You can do most of it with that. There are also a lot of resources online for subbing in other exercises when equipment is needed.
The book lays out a very structured, multiple stage workout as well as why it was developed that way. I really enjoyed it and want to pick it up again once I get over my fear of the weight area at my current gym.
Welp. My running is okay...I've found a good balance for the interim of "I don't have a race or goal on my radar right now."
I still am eating like crap, though. Too much sugar. Although, DH has made a ton of changes in our eating plans for dinners including the meat we're using (and using less of it). Hopefully that will help? I gotta stop drinking so much booze on the weekend.
My treadmill appears to be dead I kind of assuming that it's not worth fixing since it's about 20 years old, but maybe I'll look in to it some. Thankfully there is a little exercise room at the nearby rec center so I was able to get in some of my run yesterday, but it closes at 9 which can be a little early for me on my longer runs. I just don't like running in the dark in the cold esp with snow
With that in mind, winter needs to end so I can run and bike happily outdoors.
If I were really committed, I'd do something like whole 30 to get my sugar love under control, but despite being pretty confidant that it would make a huge difference to my weight and well being, I just don't wanna.
apparently Feb is the month to find deals on treadmills, etc. sooo...
Nice! I'll have to remember that for when it makes sense to get one again, maybe in a few years.
It'd be convenient to have one now, but I really need to suck it up and run outside or at the rec for a while. I can't use it while kids nap since they don't anymore, don't use it much in nicer weather, and it'll be nice to not have it in our house when we go to sell hopefully soonish. I also need to spend our money on bike stuff soon, and need to keep the guilt down.
