I must be feeling particularly judgy today because all I want to do is snark on her for the fucking spelling and grammar followed by some crack about illiteracy.

Well damn. I didn't know "there are tons of people who don't do it, so why should we?" is a valid excuse.
I mean, there are millions who can't read on grade level, so screw learning to read! I'm so not teaching DD. And we all know most americans don't know order of operations So screw math too.

But are their doctors studied up herbalists? No? Well there you go.
Also, this is why I just can't quit you SBP: It is really hard to take you seriously when you write like you've suffered a hypoxic brain injury.
This is more troubling than the vax thread because it suggests you've tried to quit me. C'mon now, ttt, we're pretty much family at this point. And there's no quitting family.
Nah, not really. Plus you're more awesome than my actual family, so...

OMFG. UFOs.
It's really amazing how much power a nose picking playboy bunny has. No one used to talk about aluminum, because they could focus on the devil thimerisol. But not that that's obviously not the issue, let's pick some other "ingredient." Nevermind not understanding dispersal, relative exposure (oh, hello, breastmilk), and, um, that blood brain barrier thing which, by the way, develops before birth. Or, it doesn't, if you prefer to rely on research over a century old, which is the kind of thing that she probably does. Probably doesn't believe in germ theory of disease, either.
Ok, is it bad that I actually learned something in that post?
Anyone want to point me to the studies on cortisol re: shots?
(please note: we're pro-vac, regular schedule, I'm just curious).
Mostly I'm just fuckin' with them. But it's one thing I've never really understood about the BREAK UP THE VACCINES hysteria. We know stress hormones are bad for infants. We know they are released in response to pain, including vaccinations. So why would you split up the MMR or the DTaP into more shots. There's no evidence that the combined shots are harmful, but there is evidence that cortisol is. So... why wouldn't you do fewer shots for less cortisol?
Here are some articles about cortisol and infants, generally:
I split them up. If my kids were extremely bothered by the shots and showed that they were in pain, maybe I would worry about the cortisol. But, the majority of the shots that we do and break up are done before the age of one, when my kids are still nursing. I always nurse my kids while they are getting their shots. Half of the time they sleep through them (as little babies), the other times they don't even flinch because nursing comforts them so much.
I do what works for me. My kids never need Tylenol or get a fever when we do it this way, but with DS1 we did his first two rounds of shots all together and he would have a fever for a few days after each set. Even if you think there isn't a valid reason to split them, it seems to work well for my children. I'm getting the shots, so why do you care?
Yeah, I have two masters and I can't spell worth crap. So I can't really fault her for that unfortunately. But just being a moron in general I can find fault with.
The problem with these blogs is people have confidence to talk in a way they would never have face to face with each other. I just didnt realize grown women still act like teenagers. I hope you ladies have sons b/c your daughters have less than desirable role models. Name calling, ridiculing, and making assumptions about each other doesnt make you sound educated on this or any other topic.
@tartaruga....im pretty sure we dont know each other so for you to state that im not literate is absurd. Obviously anyone can reproduce, however less than 10% of adults in this country have a master's degree, me being one of them so I think my critical thinking skills are fine thank you. Part of my education required me to write a 50 page paper, this was besides my theses and I chose the topic of vaccines so Ive done alot of research and believe it or not my University didnt allow me to use blogs as my sources.
swimbikepuke...You rambled on and on but you never responded to my statement. The current combination of vaccines (which is way more than it was 10/20 years ago) has never been tested together. Each vaccine is tested individually for safety. So your choice is to trust the government and drug companies and mine is to question the safety of all these ingredients given together to my young baby. To you that makes me an idiot, and thats fine.. When I said the drug companies were granted immunity I wasnt talking about the VICP (we pay a tax on every vaccine so in theory when people have a severe reaction our money goes to them, again releasing the drug companies of any liability) I was talking about when the swine flu vaccine was released it was fast tracked so few studies were done and the government told the drug company that they wouldnt be liable if it caused any problems. Its nice to know that the government you trust so much had no problems administering this vaccine to pregnant women and children without knowing any long term effects.
Bottom line...to each their own...I choose to question and research what goes into my babies system just as i do my own...its funny that millions of adults are walking around without these vaccinations and yet theyre fine. Do you have every vaccine that youre planning on giving your child? (besides rotavirus) do your parents? but yet youre so concerned & opinionated on what my child has! please!
Ridiculous amounts of kids in our schools are walking around with anxiety, depression, adhd, bipolar tendencies, learning disabilties, asthma, severe allergies, oppositional defiant disorders and the list goes on and on. Do you sit in on meetings with these kids, do you test them and write evaluations on a daily basis? Teenagers are committing suicide in record high numbers, we had one in my school last year...autism is one concern for many parents and the media chooses to use it over and over but im much more concerned about all the disabilities and suffering i see on a daily basis with children and sorry if u think its stupid to question what could be the cause. You can continue to sit on your computer and bash people who dont think the same as you, while I continue to help these kids with disabilities and research what I need to do to make sure my child doesnt suffer like so many of them.
