If this is such a big deal, did the CEO sacrifice his own health insurance to save money for the company? Why does he deserve it but not his employees?
These CEOs are making my list of places to avoid longer each time they come out. I did go to Starbucks yesterday to support them and won't be ordering from Papa John's (although I didn't use them much anyway). I did used to drive through CFA, but not now. Other people have chicken also.
Yeah, I feel like if he has such a large company and HASN'T been providing health insurance for his employees, he's a huge dick. And $0.14 per pizza is NOT a lot to pay for me to ensure than the people making my dinner have health insurance.
And yes, Papa Johns is clearly better than Dominos. Also, I love condiments. LOVE. Even if they are mostly cheap vegetable oil.
Hmmmm....$.14/pizza for shitty pizza that I'd never order or eat anyway in exchange for massive health insurance reform that enables millions of previously uninsured to get insurance? I'll take it!
I think this just really exemplifies the selfishness in certain segments of our society. You are outraged because you have to make the sacrifice of 14 cents so that others can actually get healthcare? And you expect that others will naturally share your outrage?

Ding ding ding!!!
Seriously, hw he related pizza to health care is kinda laughable.
(wiki says they're only in 37 states... does that count as nationwide?)
Oh no. This could start a whole new raging debate!!!111!!!1
I say, yes, 37 is enough to make it national but it doesn't count for this conversation because that means there are still too many places I couldn't order it for the kids and the sitter.
Also, I don't want to bake my own pizza. If I wanted to turn on my oven, I would buy some freaking Pillsbury dough and do it myself.
John Schnatter is a relative of mine. My great uncle and grandpa helped him make pizzas at his dad's bar back in the day.
Interesting, my DH's aunt and uncle used to (and still do) hang out at that bar.
Oh yeah? My whole family is from that area and I grew up there. My grandpa's family is from Jeffersonville (where the bar is located) and my grandma is from New Albany which is next to Jeffersonville along the riverfront.
Yeah, he has a bunch of phone lines. And allegedly has escape tunnels. lol.
Hey, who doesn't??
Exactly.
Don't you wish you were invited to his house for the onset of the zombie apocalypse???!?! I think people underestimate the value of escape tunnels, personally.
My state has Papa Murphy's, but my county does not. Whomp, whomp. My county is also pretty huge. And has like 12 million people, so someone is missing out, here...
