Kitchenaid Artisan or Professional series?

I'm in the market for a new stand mixer. My 10 year old kitchenaid is no longer working. I had an artisan and am wondering about whether I should go to a professional one. Would love to hear pros and cons.

How often do you use a stand mixer? What kinds of things do you mix in it (mostly loose cake batters, or lots of stiff oatmeal cookie dough)?

We probably use it 2-4 times a week. Bread dough. Pizza dough. Cookies. Muffins. There are 5 of us in the family

I'd go with a pro series, then.

If you're making dough that often, definitely a pro.

If you are making bread regularly, go with the Pro. It has considerably more power.
