Right about now I'm regretting living in a top floor, corner unit apartment in an old building because that all means zero insulation. It's COLD in here! I took meat out of the freezer 9 hours ago, set it on the counter, and it's still not thawed. The 2 little wall unit heaters are chugging away and I'm about to put a fire on too so hopefully I can feel my fingers again.
In other news, I hate suit shopping. I had to go buy a new one for my interview tomorrow because mine is too small. I have discovered it's hard to find something professional looking - I don't exactly understand why you would want a suit with big zippers and such on the front but I saw a lot of that. I ended up getting a Calvin Klein suit at Lord & Taylor that is a classic black suit but I don't love the way it fits (although maybe I'm being too critical? I'll see what DH says when he gets home) AND it has a skirt so wearing it tomorrow when we're supposed to see record low temps seems like a bad idea. I think my only other option at this point though is to run out to the stores tomorrow morning which I'm not going to want to do either. I wish I had had more time. I already feel like I'm not going to get this job (the first interview is basically to see if your personality fits with the office, which makes me think probably not, lol)
Here it's super cold too, with a windchill of -10! Even my dog doesn't want to be out there for longer than it takes to pee, and she usually doesn't mind the cold. Once I had a little corner apartment that wouldn't get above 60 degrees on its own. I had to get a space heater to make it tolerable.
HoneySpider The Limited has some flattering suits, so I recommend that if you plan to look around more. Also, good luck at your interview!
HoneySpider - I don't know how formal the place you're interviewing at is, but could you buy a pair of slacks and a blazer that look good together separately? Or are the top and bottom supposed to always match? I know nothing about business wear.
It's really cold here. It's -2 right now and will be -10 when I leave work at 1am. I'm thinking about putting my hot toes in my boots now so if I do have to go out my toes don't go numb. Plus our building here at work is poorly insulated. I have the portable heater on facing me.
I can't wait to get home and snuggle up under the covers in bed. Our heat is as good as it gets in a house built in the late 1700's.
I have no clue about suits for interviews. I never had to really dress for one. All the interviews I have gone to were mostly informal.

@moonbeam Thanks! My old suit is actually from The Limited Unfortunately there isn't one real close to me (ie: I can ride the bus to)
katespade I am feeling like I need to have a formal suit for this interview otherwise I would probably try to get away with a dress. I actually have a pair of CK black dress pants, I am wondering if somehow I might be able to pull them off with the suit jacket. I'm going to take a look and see.

We have negative temps going on too which makes it cold in here. But I'm afraid to turn up the heat too much because once it warms up again, it gets ridiculously hot in here! It's like there's no temperature control at all!

I tried the suit on and DH says it looks good...once I put on heels and an actual shirt underneath I thought it looked better too. Tomorrow I just need to run and get some tights.
I'm glad the suit works. For future needs, I've also had good luck at JCPenney's.
Due to my district being one of the few not closed today, attendance was spotty for both staff and students. My afternoon class had 7 students (out of 21).
My period showed up five days early. Between that, my annoyance over not getting today off, and the piles of grad school work I need to complete by tomorrow night, I'm taking off tomorrow from work.

I'm being bad and we're ordering pizza. I've been craving Pizza Hut breadsticks for soooo long. We're getting the dinner box with the cinnastix too. I figure baby should hopefully be here soonish so I don't care about going waaay over my carb limit right now. I'm crabby and in pain and I want pizza damn it! Haha. Too bad it's going to take almost an hour!

And now you're in labor! good thing you got your last hurrah meal in!
I wanted to go to Costco with C today (although it's quite the adventure to pull off it would be something to do today and hopefully he would nap while I wore him). DH just heard on the radio that the latest measles outbreak is in the city right next to Costco. With all the measles cases here in SoCal and now hitting really close to home I think it's safe to say that we aren't going anywhere with him for a little while (except outside on lots of walks and to grandma's house).

That's what I was thinking too. Lol
luv2rn4fun- I don't blame you for wanting to stay far away from everywhere.

It says it 73 here today. We have yet to have winter (although it did rain and was "cold" right when we were home with C. By cold I mean it was in the high 50s and we didn't want to take C out for walks in that. Yes, super spoiled in SoCal! Honestly I wouldn't mind a little winter weather...it would be a nice change.
I take that back...it must have been pretty cold at least one day because we got snow when C was less than 2 weeks old.

I've actually really been enjoying having winter until yesterday...it's one thing to be outside and be cold but to be inside your house and be cold really, really sucks. Hopefully this should be our coldest stretch though.
