Has anyone bought a leather bag from BR lately? I'm kind of in love with this bag but I'm hesitant to purchase it because haven't bought a bag from Gap or Banana since college. I'm in need of something better than my current Kate Spade frankenbag but I need something that will tolerate some abuse because I'm pretty hard on my bags.
Also, what's your bottom line when it comes to Banana and sales. I refuse to pay full price because everything always goes on sale but since it's a BR pick none of the codes over the last week or so have applied. It's currently 20% off but I'm hesitant to get it and have a better code come out a week or so later and feel like a sucker.
I have always been happy with my BR bags, they have held up well.
As for the discount, they occassionaly offer cardholders discounts that do not exclude BR picks. I would probably get it since it is 20% off. You probably won't do better. They are offering 2% back on Ebates.

I have a handful of Gap and BR Leather bags that i've had for yearssssss and they've held up well. I just picked up a leather tote/crossbody from Gap this weekend that I'm loving.

I have a bag and wallet that are less than a year old from them. The bag has taken some abuse and still looks new. It's also pretty lightweight for leather, but doesn't look cheap. I toss it into the car a lot. I just don't put my bags on the floor anywhere since you never know what's there. The code BRMORE will give you 30% off a $150 if there's anything small that you've had your eye on. It brings it down to around what a 20% code would, but you could get a little something extra. That one expires tonight.

That code doesn't work because it's a BR pick and therefore excluded from all the promo codes that have been available. If I was able to use the code then I would have most likely ordered the bag after a few others said theirs have held up well.
There's something about ordering from GAP/Banana and AT/Loft that always makes me hesitate to buy anything because I feel like within days of placing an order a better code will come out and I'll be pissed that I paid so much more. I don't get like this at Sephora or department stores but the constant revolving coupons make me crazy.
I don't buy anything from BR unless it's 40% off (and usually already a clearance item), but their sales, excluded items and ever-changing prices annoy the heck out of me! (I've been watching one skirt for the past week, today it's $79, but yesterday I could have bought it for $35!)

I hate this also, but it's been really good for my wallet, because it discourages me from shopping lol!

Gah, now it's back to full price again. Fuck you, Banana, and your shitty pricing games.
I'm taking this as a sign that I need to keep looking for a bag from a more stable retailer. I'm also remembering why I rarely buy anything from Banana anymore.
If you really want it I guess I personally try to hold out until a sale. I've been burned one time too many by those crazy price games so unless I have a dire need for it, I hold off.
