tinybride How do you get those gorgeous loose curls?? Mine always end up looking like Shirley Temple or falling flat.
Thank you! It is easier if your hair can hold curls pretty well. In the picture this was a few hours ago so it's not as wavy after being outside in the wind today, but my hair is naturally slightly wavy in some parts, but in a weird way. It wasn't always like this, used to be really straight but either with age, hormones, or a lot of dye jobs the texture changed.
I use a conair 1.25 curling iron and alternate at times with the type of curls. Mainly you want to grab some hair and wrap around the barrel and hold it for about 30 seconds. Curl away from the face. On some parts (mainly because I get lazy and its faster) I clamp at the top bring it down and curl up. I can't explain it right and you're probably like "huh?" Lol, but there are some good tutorials on YouTube as well if you type in "big hair waves." When I'm done, I usually tease at the crown and hair spray lightly. I may run my fingers through parts of the bottom if I want my waves more loose.
If you're having trouble with your hair holding curl, try a little bit of lightweight styling lotion for texture, or hairspray the section a little before you curl.
