I'm at my first night of work. It was hard leaving W but so nice to see all of my friends and my munchkins. The nanny entertained W for 20 min while I finished getting ready and she was really good with him so that put me at ease. Also, I saved a testicle tonight.
I didn't want oatmeal for breakfast, but figured I should be "good" and eat anyway. Except I forgot that I ate the last of it yesterday. Woohoo! Captain Crunch and leftover pizza for breakfast! I was starving for some reason.
It's cold and snowy here today so I think I will curl up on the couch and watch Netflix. I was super productive yesterday so I earned some lazy time.
Yesterday was a long day between teaching, professional development x 2 hours, then another hour of a different professional development, then dog training class. Roads were bad leaving school, and they're even worse this morning.
Today's another long ass day because I'll be at school today until 8:30 tonight. About to leave now, but I don't wanna!
Since Sunday, we've decided we wanted to move, called the mortgage dude, hooked up with a realtor, contacted the drywall repair guy, donated a box and three large bags to charity, did a huge Menards purchase, and have set up multiple appointments with various people. That's on top of a long, busy week at school, and taking grad classes. I'm exhausted- physically and mentally.
Testicular torsion. It de-torsed with the manipulation of the first ultrasound and had blood flow. I was checking it hourly and it re-torsed and turned black. Ordered an ultrasound and there was no arterial blood flow. At all. He was shipped for emergency surgery.
And get this. The ambulance transporting this patient had to stop for gas on the way to pick up this patient. How do I know this? The transport nurse told this to the parents while she was in the mom's room getting consent. So if the delay had caused him to lose his testicle, at least they would have known who to sue.
Lol.. yes, how did you save a testicle? ETA: saw your response. Ouch! And yeah stopping for gas doesn't seem like something you do on the way to the hospital with a patient!
I'm happy that we finally have a day where we don't have to go anywhere. Well, E and I don't. I'll be sending H to the store for some things, lol.
MrsAggie S/O testicles, I've been having fun with DH since he has his post-op on Tuesday. I drew a picture of "his testicles" Tuesday night. Last night, I made him turkey balls. The funny thing is that he likes it. LOL

My appointment went really well yesterday. She seemed to know a lot about GP and said that the things I've already started to do to change my diet have been good. She said that I'm on the right track and she was able to provide me with tips, tricks, and guidelines for additional changes to make. She had informational packets for me and everything.

Last night was such a clusterfuck.
wow. do you think they were able to save it in surgery, or were they cutting it out?
C's appointment went well yesterday. He's gaining weight (9 lbs 10.3 oz, almost 2.5 lb gain in just over a month). However, the doctor keeps asking about his weight and asked how tall both DH and I are. So of course I googled growth chart calculators and he's in the less than 5 percentile and less than 3 percentile, depending on the calculator used. She is concerned but not because as she said "he's keeping track on his small curve"...he's just a small little guy. Oh, and he slept so good last night...so thankful because I was terrified after him being fussy all day (he got shots, poor little guy).
Things with DH are better (we're talking) but still distant and tense. Nothing has been resolved, although he is spending a lot more time with C, except that we both know that we can't keep fighting like this if we want our marriage to work. I'm still pushing for third party intervention but he is ignoring that, probably hoping that I just let it go (which I'm not and I told him that I'm going with or without him).
Once he wakes up we'll do our normal routine through first nap and second feeding and then head over to my mom's. She'll watch C while I go run and shower and then we'll have lunch and watch The Bachelor! Should be a fun day!
I don't wanna go to mandatory nursing "education" which is a thing they do every year telling us about stupid shit that they think CMS (aka Medicaid/Medicare) wants us to do. stuff like using your "key words" and rounding on patients every hour, thinking that will increase patient satisfaction and cut down on call lights. yea right. I can't tell you how many times I've rounded on a patient, "you doing okay? any pain? need any water? is there anything I can do for you?" "no" "okay, see you in about an hour." then 30 seconds later, they're calling saying they need this and that and the other, grrr! it's the same shit every year and I've heard it before and don't want to hear it again.
and my sister wants to come up and visit and get her tattoo touched up, maybe get another one. I was like, "why don't you wait until this kid is out, then I can get one with you, or get my ears pierced again?" sister: "but if I don't do it now, I won't do it." ugh fine. so now we're loosely setting up a weekend for her to come up, and she's going to offload her kids onto my mom AGAIN.

Was the ambulance service Cataldo by chance MrsAggie, LOL
I was tossing and turning very early this morning and I thought, "oh it's ok, It's Saturday." Then my brain was like NO IT'S NOT. LMAO I looked at the time and it was 5:40, so I still had 20mins to sleep and by that I mean toss and turn. LOL

DH's co-workers are doing a happy hour today for his cw who is leaving and since I haven't met most of them yet, I'm going to go down for a bit and say hi.
mrssandro ((hugs)) and prayers that you get some relief.
jjwritergirl YOU too lady!!! ((hugs)) and prayers.
I've had a nasty day at work. I've almost written a vent post twice, but more crap keeps coming up. It's amazing to me how an organization whose mission is to help others in need can be so political and unethical at the same time.
