I tweaked my back somehow 2 days ago. It was bugging me a bit yesterday too, and now today it's legit pain. I went to my PT/osteopath friend, and he did some work that left me with more pain-free range of motion but also increased pain in other positions (probably from stiff muscles having been moved around). Not great any time but especially not great the day the CF Open is starting, when I want to be at my best! :N:
Boo that. Can you foam roll? And drink lots and lots and lots of water.
Rolling was extremely painful - like, pain on the vertebra, not just tight muscles - earlier today and didn't seem to help, unfortunately. Right now the strategy is more water, more anti-inflammatories and a good night's sleep!

Not sure if it would help, but I have trained under Jared Fleming a few times (olympic weightlifter) and he has struggled with a bad back injury. Just yesterday he posted his back stretching/relief plan video on Facebook and Instagram. I had a bulging L5/S1 for months when I met him and worked a lot of his drills into my routine and the relief was amazing. You might check out his athlete page on Facebook and see if there are some ideas there to help you over the weekend?
