I had conferences today, and I don't use my phone at work, or my work computer for non-work stuff. So I got home at 8:00 and am so, so confused by the internet today.
I am convinced it isn't your eyes compensating for a lighting issue, or about rods and cones but rather a complicated social experiment. Like divergent but even more fucked up.

I don't think so. I mean, how would that explain a picture changing right before my eyes?
Like, I saw it as white & gold the first few times. Then I saw the same picture but maybe edited differently, and it was blue & black. Then, when I went back to the original picture it was blue & black.
Now if I go to the original buzz feed, it's white & gold for a second and then changes to blue & black as I'm watching!
O.k., I just opened a link to this, saw white and gold, then the white started to change to blue before my very eyes and I freaked out a little so I closed it.
This isn't about a monitor or a different screen. It's more about how our brain sees color; the white balance of the picture, shadows/brightness, how our brain color corrects for us, etc. I think it's really quite fascinating and crazy at the same time.

I saw white and gold every single time I looked at it except for once, when it was very clearly dark blue and black. And I was willing to accept that it was a gif that was changing and freaking people out, but the change happened for me on a friend's screenshot, so it can't be that. DH never saw white and gold and thinks I'm trying to screw with his head.
