I went to bed early, for me, last night.
Now I'm on my phone buying building supplies and texting H about canvas prints, the lawnmower, build and grow projects, restaurant groupons, and whatever else I that pops into my well rested brain.

DS's parent teacher conference went well. The teacher and one of the aides had a lot of positive things to say. We still need to work on teaching him personal boundaries, sharing, keeping his hand to himself.... The typical toddler stuff. Apparently he hates to color too

hates to color?
I have a feeling personal boundaries is going to be a big issue with Kid.
I have a kindergartener now. MAH BAYBEE! I may have teared up a bit when I was leaving the school.
awww poor thing
the sadness will last a few days
And it'll come back in August when he starts school. *sigh* He's so grown up already. He's reading his name on things, counting everything, and is good with other kids (maybe a little quiet, but he's had no troubles playing with different kids in Sunday school). *snerfle*
This was from a few days ago, I came way too close to leaving the house without a shirt on. My routine shifted slightly and I turned off the light in the bedroom and started walking out of the room before I realized I didn't have a shirt on.
Yesterday, on my way home from work there was a UPS truck blocking a lane of traffic, most of the cars got over in plenty of time, except for that one asshole. He started to get over behind me, but decided nope, I can get ahead of a few more cars. The car in front of my didn't let the asshole over and neither did I. The car in front of me actually waved at me and gave me a thumbs up for not letting that jackass in.

I know! I don't get hating to color. But he will take all of crayons and use them at the same time just to get it done faster. He would whine when he saw coloring in his task box. But he loves to build.
DS is a very affectionate kid, and around a lot of affectionate people. So trying to teach him that not everyone wants a hug may be hard
Our next door neighbors moved yesterday. My first thought was how now I can get a pair of gray Chucks because she used to wear them every day and I loved them but didn't want to seem like a psycho stalker shoe copier.
I'm going to be offering practicum positions today! I really hope our top 2 accept.
Yesterday the cats were locked up all day because people were supposed to be coming out to replace 2 windows. My landlord told me yesterday that the wrong windows were ordered and they'll be coming next week instead. Poor cats, locked up all day for no reason.

I never understand the "dont let people in front!" rage.
Zipper merge, people. You are suppose to use both lanes until the merge point then take turns. No reason to get upset or get in the thru lane ten miles before the merge point.
I understand this was only a UPS truck and not a construction zone, but it's a pet peeve of mine.

This area is full of people who ride the EXIT LANE for as long as they can, because the main road is full of traffic. Then they expect to cut over at the last second because they never intended to exit? No way, asshole!
EXIT LANE drivers are irritating but I still let them in.

When you are behind me, and you suddenly get back over to the blocked lane and floor it to get in front me or other cars, I have a problem. If you are making an attempt to get over sooner, I will let you in. And I see what chalupa is talking about around here a lot.
The guy last nighthad about 3 car lengths to pass me, the car in front of me and get over before hitting the UPS truck.
The Dr and I are still talking (of course) and he just asked for recommendations for the retreat he's part of this weekend because the stuff he's doing all sounds pretty therapeutic. I told him about the training I did at my work in December and offered to share it with him. He asked if I'd be willing to do a workshop for them in the future! This would be a huge opportunity for me, getting in front of all of these doctors/residents who will some day need to refer patients to mental health professionals. I'm really excited that something that started out small, just an idea to help my staff, could potentially turn into something big for me.
That's awesome tiramisu! It would be really beneficial to them.
I'm really distracted today. I've gotten some stuff done, but my mind isn't on my work.
Thanks! Imagine me, "just" a master's-level therapist, talking to a room full of residents about the importance of self-care and how their jobs can traumatize and fatigue them.

It is really important, especially in the surgical fields. Get the right group and it'll go great! And don't knock yourself down like that! They're not any better than anyone else because of the letters at the end of their name.

My dad gives up coffee every year for lent. I always feel bad making coffee when he's home knowing he can't have it. As a result I'm severely coffee deprived today.
