Does 138 mg/dl warrant a 3 hr test??
From what I'm seeing online, the number is 140, which I am under. But when I log in to see my results, the dr wrote something about 3hr in the annotations.
I'm waiting on a call, but wondering what the heck this means and if I can be pissed if they make me take it.

They called. The cutoff is 135 so I failed.
I know it sounds silly to be pissed, but it seems like the cutoff number can vary, so I have a hard time thinking that this is truly necessary. And if it's not, id really prefer not to spend 3 hours in a freaking lab.

I know it's not fun, but it really is for the health of you and your baby. I highly doubt your OB is ordering the test for shits and giggles, if you KWIM.
Pregnancy seems to be a time of indignities and some definite inconveniences, but it's all worth it in the end. Just try to keep the bigger picture in mind. Can you bring a tablet or something and watch a movie, or read a good book? At least then you can relax a bit rather than just having to sit there and stew.

Yeah sorry not sorry...if they ask you to do it there is no reason to be pissed at them for doing so.
Even though I passed the 1 hour, if they had still asked me to take the 3 hour for shits and grins I would have. I don't (didn't) care. The point was to have a healthy baby and if having an extra test would help that cause, sign me up.
My doctors use a cut off of 135 as well. I know it sucks, but it is much better to be safe than sorry. I think I'd be more concerned if I got a 133 and they didn't want to do further testing. If you are borderline, you want to be sure if you have it or not to make sure you are getting proper care.

I had GD and I would have rather known about it then avoid taking the test. If I had kept on eating the way I was, my baby could have had problems. Luckily I was able to control it. The test sucked, yes, but hopefully you'll pass so you don't have to deal with the frustration of GD.
