I'm also someone who gets defensive about (certain) direct sales hate, but yeah, the oils... no.
(that said, I mix peppermint oil with water and spray our basement since we had 3 mice about a year and a half ago. Haven't had any since. Maybe RT could talk about her mice infestation and see if they could all come over to help.)

Omg I am sitting at a red light (DH is driving) and there is a car ahead of us with a huge DoTerra sign on the back window. I was wondering what it was.

Are they any that work for ants?
The only reason I know peppermint works is because my mom told me she uses some peppermint packs or something in her basement. I know jackshit about oils except that they don't cure measles or cancer.
I second Terro ant killer. My oil anecdote: I had a dog come in very ill after being bathed in all natural home made oils for "anxiety". After some digging it turned out that they doused him in tea tree oil which is toxic to dogs. They refused to believe it could be the oils because the oil is so pure.

My sister (who makes bad decisions) just started selling this crap. I think this is like the 5th or 6th home selling brand she's done. I saw something about it in her FB feed, but didn't bother to google it. Good gravy....
In this case yes. It was undiluted. I spent a good amount of time on the phone with our version of poison control.
Ugh, that's terrible. I use TTO around our house sometimes (a drop in shampoo bottles to ward off lice between daycare and all the schools/daycares I visit for work), and I will use some on my own skin from time to time.
Our dog has regular allergies that result in scabs, and last week I was waiting for our vet appt. later in the week and Googling if there was anything topical I could do for her for relief. The very first results I found were how TOXIC TTO is for dogs.

Ugh sorry allergies are the worst. Call your vet and see if they can recommend OTC products. Likely the can give you some suggestions until your appointment.

Thanks! We saw them this past week, it was an extra day or two to wait. We know she's always had dietary allergies, and she's on daily OTC meds for environmental/seasonal, but once or twice a year for the last 4 years or so she gets scaly and worse and needs antibiotics. We have a medicated shampoo to use from them at that time too. Fortunately she responds to the antibiotics well and has only only needed a second course once and only needed a steroid shot once too.

We bought a pet and kid friendly ant spray at HD. It has mint in it. It kills the ants, but didn't keep them from coming back or from finding their trail again. We ended up sprinkling something all the way around the outside of our house to finally get rid of ants. We had a major ant infestation last year. The spray worked fine when we just had a few ants.
