alicia45 - It didn't stop snowing until almost dark. It looked like your side of town was a mess! Did you guys even try to get out today? G wanted to play again as soon as he woke up from his nap, but we should have gotten him better gloves. DH ended up putting socks on his hands to keep them warm. Lol. (wilted)
It was awful out there today. Dh had a meeting by the zoo today and it took him an hour to get home. It's usually 20 minutes. He stopped by Albertsons for a few things and he said it was so busy. It snowed from about 8am until just before dinner. We might get more tomorrow. We had two pairs of toddler gloves, the cotton type, so we'd trade them out after about 10 min and I encouraged her to use the sand toys. Next winter, real gloves.
I've got Jamie in bed and I'm all settled down with my wine and my cheese dinner and I wanted to watch the old BBC production of Middlemarch. It's been on Netflix and Amazon Instant for AGES. But now it is nowhere to be found! I'm annoyed

The big boss called an emergency happy hour after work, drinks were on him. I had a pint and then came home and had ice cream for dinner. It's been a lovely Friday night.
It's 8:30pm and I just took this photo of our backyard. It looks like first light before sunrise. I think it's because the light of the city is being locked in by the low clouds and the white of the snow. Does this happen at other snowy places? So cool!
I'm drunk and I want to talk about deep, personal things. Anyone want to share secrets?
Also, I have a haircut tomorrow morning and I'm cutting it short. Agh.
My secret tonight is that I scoop ice cream out of the carton into a bowl because I tell myself it helps with portion control. But really it's because it's easier to pour chocolate chips on it when it's in a bowl.

I thought we had our outside lights on too. Moonlight reflected off the snow?? We're obviously not used to this white stuff. G begged to go out again after dinner.
rjamz - how else would you eat ice cream? No bowl?
I'm having Haagen Daaz vanilla and pomegranate gelato swirl. With chocolate chips. And wine. Because I'm trying to cut down on drinking and desserts. But Friday nights all restrictions are off

I made sure all the lights on our house are off and if you go outside here, it's really cloudy and sleet is falling. I can't see a moon at all, just low clouds. It's super weird. Maybe a Northern girl will tell us that it's normal. Haha, we're so not used to this!

rjamz - lol, after last night's blue is white, black is gold debate I had to wonder for a moment. WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU PUT IT IN?? Carry on...now I want ice cream!
Baseball is in full swing now so I will have a lot of nights (like tonight) solo parenting. I tagged along to dinner with my parents. We went to a sushi/ hibachi place. It was good, but DD was scared of the scary man cooking, lol.DS has entered the "if you are eating then I need to eat too or I will scream" phase.
