I thought breaking/frying the eggs might be a big eff you to the traditional First Lady jobs (like choosing the Easter eggs). But I was an English major and tend to find metaphors where there are none!
This is what I got from it too. She's like, take your commemorative Easter eggs and break and fry them.
Ha, i took it as it could have been fertilized or something (preg). Ha
Oh I agree that Claire doesn't want kids and they wouldn't be good for her political motivations at this time anyway. I didn't know if they would have her get pregnant and then she aborts the baby, etc. I could see that happening, especially with the abortion story line from last season.
I am pretty sure this comes up in the next episode (no spoilers, especially as I am not sure if it was 4 or 5 now).
I like the Doug angle. I am wondering how that will pan out.
SPOILERS THROUGH EPISODE 4 *** *** ** *** *** I can't tell if Doug is serious about switching teams. He seems so loyal to Frank. But sidelining him seems like a bad move - you'd think Frank would be smarter than that.
As a CW pointed out, would the White House seriously invite Pussy Riot to a state dinner? Especially if the Putin-like guy is there? Incidentally, I kept waiting for him to make an indecent proposal re: Claire.
I did a little cheer when the Jesus crucifix fell after Frank spit on it.

I'm only through episode 4. At this point I think Doug wants to sabotage the solicitor general's campaign from the inside. I will say so far this season each episode has held my attention independently. Usually I have a few snoozer episodes and then one episode that makes me shout at the tv. This season seems a little more even to me.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
I fell asleep in the middle of episode 2 last night. WTF is up with Doug?? And doesn't he realize he's been dumped?
Doug is the danger of letting work be your life. I will say this, Frank was so right when telling him that he's not ready to come back and his concern should be getting better. Frank ain't shit in a lot of ways, but that was probably the most honest, human exchange he's had with anyone. Doug needs to recognize that falling in the shower isn't cool and he needs a caretaker right now.
the sex scene was just strange- I viewed it more as a power thing, him vulnerable about the break, her finally showing compassion & screwing him back to life??
the needle thing could be about control or something along the line of "not touching his lips" Like some people make that vow??
I saw her throwing up as nerves, like she couldn't believe what was about to happen. I thought she'd had abortions in the past?? she wouldn't have a kid now...
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
