I'm going to go out today and look for a lamp and curtains for the nursery, and to buy a Snoogle. I'm tired of arranging various pillows around me all night.
I've heard from H a couple of times from Haiti which gives me relief. Looking forward to Mexican with friends tonight. God would I loooove some margaritas though

How about a virgin margarita? Not the same I know. Not much this weekend, my husband is out of town for a wedding, I'm a little uneasy about it, but whatever this will be his last trip in this pregnancy and probably for a while after baby is here. My mother has been here since Wednesday (when H left out of town for work) and smothering me, I wish she would go home but I don't want to offend her. At the latest she will leave tomorrow at least, I can deal for one more day.

starburst604 - I'm glad your husband is in contact. I know you were anxious about this trip.
This should be a fairly low key weekend. The only real plan is some errands this morning (I need curtains for my son's room) and then we're off to the accountant this afternoon. I think I'm going to convince DH that sushi is necessary for dinner. Tomorrow we may go to Sea World, weather permitting. Or just hang around the house.
I'm going to look at a swing that I found on kijiji and see if it looks as good as it does in the listing. After that I'm meeting up with some friends for pedicures and dinner.
I should probably run a vacuum around this place at some point too.
Edit: Bought the swing. Yay for kijiji scores and saving $100+!
Check out the bump nest pillow! DH bought it for me for valentines and it's amazing and comes in cute prints:) I think it's similar to the snoogle.
I am going to lunch for Mexican with a friend and we are going to bloomingdales cause I want to look at diaper bags:) Tonight DH wants to go to Yard House for dinner and I have been craving a turkey club so it works for me!
I am also doing some online shopping right now. Pea in the Pod has 30% off full price, all sale is buy 2 get 1 free, and there is a free shipping code. I just ordered two pairs of nice leggings, two sweatshirts, two joie blouses, a Vince tank top, and two splendid tees for $256. Steals! I am pumped. A lot of it I don't need quite yet but I could pass it up!
Wine day and lunch with some friends today....maybe I'll put a lemon in my water so I can feel fancy too. Lol Then House of Cards binge watching with H.

Today, instead of cleaning out my guest room to move my sewing room stuff into it, I instead decided that finishing off some quilting projects was a better use of my time and that getting them finished would mean I have much less to move over.
Tonight, an outdoor bonfire at a friend's house. -20C. Ack!

Where abouts in Canada are you? I'm not far from TO and we're sitting at a balmy -5! I'm so pumped. We're actually supposed to get up to -1 early in the week. T-shirts and shorts for everyone!!
We went to a breastfeeding class this morning. I was so relieved that everyone seemed to be like me--not very excited or enthusiastic about BFing, but willing to try. On GBCN, it seems like everyone is so passionate and enthusiastic about it, and I feel kind of like something is wrong with me.
We are doing a few more things in the baby's room today, maybe watching some House of Cards, and just hanging out. Tomorrow is chores/cleaning/last of the thank-you cards and our last few shower gift returns. After this week, we're done with baby stuff and I'm looking forward to just having fun for a few weeks!
I didn't go to the gym and instead napped 3.5 hours. Ugh
Jealous!
We had our tax appointment this morning. Then cleaned the house. Then had a four hour appointment with an organizer. The nursery is finally coming together and the house is getting organized!
I insisted on chocolate chip pancakes this morning so we went out for breakfast. Now we are binge watching House of Cards season 4 because south Texans don't do well with 34 and raining.

Eh, i'm not super duper excited about trying breastfeeding, but I am willing to give it a try so I'm with you.
What is this "nesting" that I keep hearing about? As much as I try to keep the house clean, I can't imagine cleaning the whole house spotless lol.

Oh, don't feel bad at all. I bfed both of mine (still bfing the 17 mo old) and I am very pro bfing for myself but I don't know if I ever felt excited about it really. The reasons it appeals to me are not things I necessarily could accurately fathom prior to doing it. Feeding a baby doesn't need to be a statement on motherhood. Do what is best for YOU and your family. Good luck!!

I'm in Ottawa and we completely lucked out since the temperature only dropped down to -15C. For most of the night it was actually closer to -10. However, the fire department showed up and shut us down (never happened before). I can't blame them though since our friend was burning off old pallets from his Dad's construction business and they had stacked them way too high. Boys.
Got my hair chopped yesterday, I think I went too short. Eh, it will grow back. Then went shopping with MIL, wow, trying on pants is tough, lol. Didn't get any, I don't know why so many of these jeans have fake pockets. I need pockets! Got some cute shirts, though, and a new pair of sneakers, which I desperately needed. Stopped at BRU to get our decals, we went to start decorating and not wait for someone to buy them off the registry. While I'm not into super girly cloths, I couldn't help myself when I saw this. Did some cooking yesterday, trying to be more meal prepared with GD. Today we're putting together a new bookshelf for dh's overflowing collection of graphic novels, I have to go through more paperwork for taxes, and maybe squeeze in a nap. I have been sooo tired lately.
I'm not doing much today. researching cars on the computer (need to get rid of my 10 year old 200K miles 2-door Toyota). I'm between a Kia Sorento, GMC Arcadia, Nissan Pathfinder, and maaaayyyyybe a Toyota Highlander or 4Runner, but the 4Runner feels way too sporty/rugged for me. DH used to have a Sorento and we loved it, and they're getting better every year.
my coworkers and I were talking about PTO/EIB hours last night. I pulled up my latest pay stub, and as of now, I have enough PTO/EIB to fully fund my full 12 week leave, and I still have another 4.5 months left to earn more! woohoo!

I was just doing the same thing. I'm between a Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rouge. After a couple hours on the computer I decided they're all pretty comparable and I'll just need to drive them all to see what I like. I really hate car shopping!
Pooh, have you looked at the Ford Edge? I loooove mine and was able to get a really good price on a one-year-old model, which meant I was able to get all the bells and whistles. I never thought I would be a Ford girl, but I am a huge fan.

Not really. DH and I are not Ford people. Some close friends have one and they're not in love with it, and we know they don't have a third row, which DH and I would like.
I am weird and like car shopping. Well I don't like the haggle process but I like looking and test driving and having a new car. I traded in my big third row SUV last year for a smaller SUV that I like a lot, but I am already thinking of my next car cause I'm nuts.
I'll be in the market for a new car soon, too. I currently have a Subaru and will probably be looking to get another one, either a Forester or Outback.
H and I have been super productive today. He put up shelving in the basement and I made a big dent in cleaning out and sorting through the stuff that's in the room that's going to be the nursery.
I struck out on maternity clothes shopping at the mall. I ended up placing an order at Target and I'll probably order some stuff from Old Navy tonight, too. The problem is they have all this new spring stuff out and it's still freezing here!
