I just walked the dogs and then got on the treadmill. Off to see some friends today, then tomorrow helping my sister shop for a new work wardrobe. It is good to be home!

Our favorite pub is having a one year anniversary party! Planning on drinking all day and pigging out on food truck food. Yay for living within walking distance!
Tomorrow I will hopefully be picking up my new car! Went with the Mazda CX5. Can't wait to get it!
I was supposed to go to KC with a friend because we want to go to ikea, but snow. This happened the last time we tried to go too.
I'm supposed to create the invites for a coworkers DDs wedding this weekend, but I don't want to turn on my computer.
I'm also supposed to fix Alissa's computer after finally creating the recovery disc for it. I don't want to do that either. So, I'm watching true crimes shows on the ID channel.
I have a Michaels gift card that is burning a hole in my pocket, so I'm going to go browse and get some stuff. Likely yarn.
Yay, yarn!!!
I'm trying to avoid an online yarn sale. It's a brand I really like working with, but it's mill ends, so it's a few balls of this colour, a few balls of that colour, etc. The discount is great! (40% off their regular price, which is already pretty good) But, I really don't need yarn.
I'm thinking of using it as a reward for myself, if I do well at the whole unpacking thing today/tomorrow...

It snowed! I'm sitting by the fireplace with a cup of HiCaff Toasted Coconut tea, eating breakfast, and catching up on here before I start studying.
I found a pair of super super wide leg black pajama pants in my closet. I was wearing them around the house and my husband was like "wow! You've lost a ton of weight! Those pants used to be a lot tighter on you! Now they aren't even touching your legs!" I then had to explain that these were not the pants that he was thinking of and that my legs were not actually half the size that they were last week.
My baby sister is starting her first job. She's not the most financially aware. Young Fabulous and Broke, or Smart Women Finish Rich?
Meanwhile, I'm in a bad mood and planning on going to do some retail therapy at Lush and Nordstroms, lol.
The book answer is both plus the Richest Man in Babylon.
I envy the opportunity for retail therapy. Even salaried (so no OT pay) tax season is good for my budget if only because I have no time to shop. I haven't even bought groceries for two weeks.
My update: We are grouting our tile - damn you tiny detailed pattern & natural ridged slate, you are NOT convenient for me to grout!!!! AND - heading over to the neighbors this evening for a Gone Girl viewing party & thai food. This evening will be decidedly more fun than the day today!

I started reading Smart Couples Finish Rich right before I graduated college. I felt like it was a little too advanced for my point in life. From what I can see of the preview of Young Fabulous and Broke, it really looks like a great starting point for someone starting their first job.
last night we binged on house of cards and thai food.
this morning, we got an early work out in. then FI did the grown up errands (grocery shopping, laundry) while I went to starbucks, sephora, and the loft. I organized my closet and now we're getting ready to resume HOC binging. deep dish later! we have our first session of ballroom dancing lessons tomorrow.
Mr. P went grocery shopping and made us pancakes and sausage ...cause he's awesome.
He also brought home the movie St. Vincent with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy and we sobbed our asses off. Comedy with a little too close to home mixed in...

Yay! Got all the office boxes unpacked, and the room mostly set up!
I think that means I earned a yarn reward... Whoo-hoo!

It was such a beautiful day in LA today - sunny and clear with a high of 65. I went on a great hike in the Santa Monica mountains and saw a herd of deer. Everything was so green and the wildflower are starting to come out. Driving home on the Pacific Coast Highway, I marveled at the sparkling blue ocean and flocks of Pelicans overhead.
I came to the realization that seasons are overrated and I could stay here, HCOL and all, forever. Lol
It was 25 and sunny today so I ran errands I put off since it's been crazy cold. It's going to snow tomorrow again so it was nice just to be outside.
I'm amazed at how 25 degrees is a respite from the cold. Mr. Insom was in Indiana this weekend and when he told me it was 3 degrees there I laughed and laughed.
Retail therapy was a success. I bonded with one of the Lush employees. It was very strange, but I left feeling happier about life. Then I promptly got sick as soon as I came home. Maybe I shouldn't have added so much chili sauce to my pho....

I was coming in to post just this, although your day sounds more relaxing than mine. We got our house keys this week (moving in officially next Saturday) so today did tons of work around the new house- hanging window coverings, mowing the lawn, and (to be totally un-MM) getting cable installed! It was great because the weather was perfect, while I talked to my IL's in NM where it was 21 and snowing.
