I saw this post on the app, I'm not usually on this board. Personally, I think men show weight loss a lot sooner than women do. Men usually show it in their faces immediately, so it's instantly noticeable. Don't be discouraged, that's an amazing weight loss on your part, and if you're feeling great, don't let others ruin that!
Awww..hugs. That is so hard and sad. Everyone wants their hardwork noticed.
I will say, I think guys just show weight loss easier/faster. H can lose four pounds and I swear I see it.
I've lost 15 since Christmas and I was just lamenting over on MMM that I didn't see it/still don't think I look good. Nobody has ever really commented on mine either.
Aww VT. I'm sorry you didn't get gushed over too, cuz 16 pounds is nothing to scoff at. But way to go, I know you've been super busy lately, so getting your exercise on and losing that weight too is a good accomplishment!
Dude. This is the effing suck. 16# is A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT. You are doing awesome. And I think that the explanation that PPs gave is really the reason. Men just show it sooner as they have lower body fat percentages. Congrats!
Don't see her again until you're down another 16 Hah

I'm sorry . You are amazing for losing 16 pounds especially during all the stress you have had! Congratulations on losing 16 pounds. You are amazing and your friends are lame.
You are awesome, and great job on the weight loss and more importantly feeling great! Totally agree that men show it sooner, and I also think that people are sometimes not as quick to say "oh you look great" to a woman because it implies that they did not look great previously. Not sure if this makes sense, but I definitely think that people are less willing to say ANYTHING about a woman's weight (good or bad)for fear of being taken the wrong way. Then again, all bets are off with close friends, who of all people should be the ones who do.
That stinks that they didn't notice but congrats on the 16 pounds--that is serious weight loss! Keep up the good work! And yay for dissertation writing being over--do you defend soon (or did I miss the PhD announcement)? Good luck!
16 pounds is a great accomplishment and not easy to do - without all the address steps and everything else you have going on in life right now. GO YOU!

You are awesome. Sixteen lbs is something to be proud of, especially with all of the stress you've been under in getting your dissertation done. Guys just suck like that, just like when they have a thought about losing weight and drop 10 lbs overnight. Don't let your friend's comment get to you - just keep on being your awesome self!
sons of bitches I am angry on your behalf. GOOD FOR YOU! You are KILLING it and I am so proud of your hard work. I would have been beyond peeved if I was in your situation.
