In my mind the things need to leave the house. It was dumb. I try to declutter on the regular too and we were aren't stuff people, but people were all like, "you would be surprised how much you can find to get rid of" etc and I thought counting might feel more like I had achieved something because it's measurable. Â It was totally dumb. Â First, I just don't have that much crap. Second, it feels good to have the drawer/pantry/shelf/closet, whatever cleaned out no matter how much I was or want able to get rid of. Â It was a seriously dumb idea. Â Â Lol at how many times I said "dumb" in this post!Â
LOL. It's not dumb. It's a fun concept and I'd be all over it. I like to count stuff too. It's just that 2015 is a lot. I could get on board no problem with like 215...haha.
I read something once about getting rid of five things every day. Sometimes when I'm stressed, I go find five things, and it's amazing how much better I feel. Five magazines I was going to read, but really won't- to the recycle bin! Five pieces of crap from the junk drawer- trash! It feels great.
@justdairy I thoroughly enjoy your stories about him. How much time do you have left?
He's here until August and then we'll start it all over again.
I probably shouldn't b*tch about him so much on here. He is a sweet kid. He works really hard for me. He's just weird sometimes. And sometimes TBH Russians are a societal norm all their own. That and I sort of hate living with other people.

I don't know how you do it year in and year out! My BIL and his wife had E students 3 years in a row, one from Germany, then Italy, then South Korea, then Russia. The year with the Russian did not go well and now they don't have e-students anymore, it was that bad :\
holly116- Do you mind sharing how much IKEA frames are. I need a bunch too. Btw i also really like your layout
They were all pretty cheap, I think the largest one in the center and the three 5x7 frame above it were the most expensive at $10 each. The smallest ones were maybe $2?
@justdairy I laughed out loud at your Russian comment. My work BFF is originally from Belarus. We constantly give her crap about all things that are stereotypically Russian that she does. Definitely a culture all their own.
C ate an entire, giant stuffed pepper from Costco tonight, among various bonus meals throughout the day. I am nervous for my future grocery budget if he keeps this up.
I ordered a cuticle pusher from Amazon about 2 weeks ago. It shipped the next day, but hasn't arrived yet. I don't have tracking info for it either. Come on man.

You know I think part of it is that my exchange students are here on a University work program where they train in ag skills on my farm to take home and apply. So I put up with it because I think it's so cool and I feel like I'm doing good in the world. Also without them here to work, I'd be doing more and no one wants that at this point in our lives..lol. Our first was French and he fit right in. We've had 2 South Americans and that was a fun culture to host and I'd do it again. It's just that they had personal life/ work ethic issues I didn't enjoy. I'm on my 7th exchange student from Russia/Ukraine and I sort of have a soft spot for them. I don't want to say you have to learn how to handle them (that sounds so wrong and unfair) but it's sort of true. I've learned they like blunt and honest and I've started doing it right back and things go okay then. They don't get their feelings hurt as a culture too easily so that's nice. They can also come off as shy and distant which appears as rude to a lot of people. I've come to sort of accept it and not take it so personally because when they first moved in, I was offended about 4364364 times a day. I mean Midwestern Americans are so over-friendly and apologizing before they even say anything non-remotely offensive, so it took some getting used to.

This is how I am feeling right now. DS was up at 6am Saturday and 5:30 am today and only taking 1 short nap in the mornings. We were mostly cooped up inside and he's stir crazy. We need spring!

Those are great prices thanks
No problem! I actually just pulled out the receipt and they were $10, $7, $5, and $2. I got the entire wall for $72.
DS kicked our asses today. His new thing is to not only ask "What?" after everything we say (that habit is back after it left for a bit) but to ask us the same question over and over and over again in approximately 17 second intervals. My ears hurt.
I haven't been this happy to see 8:15 in a long time.
My goal to push it forward this weekend was to try and get the gallery wall up in the family room. I bought a bunch of random frames at IKEA on Tuesday without any sort of plan. I know how to play my DH. I started talking about cutting out paper and tacking it up to "see" a la Pinterest and he couldn't handle that. Soon enough, he had the wall in autocad and totally took over the project.
Yay. Frames are up! Now to go through all our photos and order some fresh prints.
Omg I love it! Pleeeease tell me the blue verticals mark the studs!!
HJ will be 16 months on the 6th. I realized a little bit ago that she hasn't wanted to nurse at all today, so she's finally weaning. I'm a lot sadder than I thought I'd be. I'm glad we made it this far, and it's actually good timing since I'll have overnight travel in April (my first time away from her overnight), but it's still really hard.
Just getting ready to bake some papa murphy's pizza for dinner tonight. We have some friends with kids the same ages as ours coming over tonight. So hopefully it'll give the kids a good 2 hours of hard playing to wear them out before bedtime.
farmvillelover I will add one after my first appointment tomorrow.
I am really excited but I had a tiny brown blob spotting after a BM (after being constipated for three days). Google says it is normal but of course you know... crazy pregnant people dwelling on everything. Hopefully I get good news / reassurance tomorrow at 10:45
I had similar spotting my entire pregnancy with DD2. I think it was the only time Dr. Google was actually reassuring.
Did C like it? What's the plot? I've consisted renting it for DS, but he has no concept of what a superhero is.
He did like it a lot. He got antsy a bit at the end but NBD. I think it was a little old for him, and if you have a sensitive kid it might be a little scary. Baymax is adorable and the overall lessons are nice.
I need to stop procrastinating and finish my application for grad school. The personal statement is hanging me up.
I will be so embarrassed if I don't get in. My aunt who is in higher ed told me that basically anyone with a pulse gets admitted and that the statement is just to make sure you have basic writing skills and good boundaries.

DS is at a hilarious age (almost 4). I love it. But he is getting so big, so fast. I keep telling him to stop growing so fast
DD, on the other hand, it at the 21 month old hellbeast stage. While she is adorable, she is a ball of tantrums most days lately. Oh.my.god. I don't remember DS being this bad. She is definitely a little spitfire!
DD's room is all organized and her dresser and bookcase are strapped to the wall. Now all the baby furniture is in the nursery, I just have to clear some more stuff out of it and we need to put it all in place.
