I've been searching CL for chairs for our formal living room. I was thinking of going in a botanical direction. I like crewel work chairs and I found @this chair pictured below (two, $75 each).
I like the floral pattern and wing chairs in general.
As it stands, it looks a little lived in- kind of shabby chic with the broken down cushion. Can that be plumped up with a new cushion and batting? Look closely at the wear in the area in the front of the seat; it's possible the threads of the crewelwork are abraded by the level of use that flattened cushion suggests.
I'm hoping I can plump up the cushion or replace it. I emailed the owner and asked if the other chair was in the same condition - I also asked about age.

Hmmm, I'm wondering if those are just a little too 70s for your house. I think I'd need to see them in person and I'd be prepared to walk away if they're not exactly what I need. Reupholstering those would be expensive unless you can DIY AND have cheap taste in upholstery fabrics.

Hmm, y'all are putting me on the fence. It would be like a 45 minute drive to see these, and that's precious wainscoting time. So maybe I'll let them go and look for something else.
