I thought it was funny. The twist was interesting, especially because the first episode made me wonder how they'd be able to keep up that storyline for an entire season. That face that he made at the end of the first episode (his mock delighted answer to the question <--- trying not to spoil it) had me in tears.
I wonder if they're going to go into more detail about the past and what happened to everyone.
At bedtime, MH and I were talking about what famous artifacts and works of art we'd pilfer if we were the last people on Earth, lol. Although we'd be limited to stuff that we could drive to, so North and South America only. Can a car make it across a frozen Bering Strait and into Russia, I wonder?

I watched it. I really like it. I actually watched the second half of last week's twice - once by myself and once with H. I liked it even more the second time. I think Will Forte is hilarious. "This is my toilet pool. This is my garbage pool. This is my margarita pool." I am not a huge fan of Kristen Schaal, but I think she has been doing a good job on this show - obnoxious but likeable.
I thought last night's episode was cute. I'm interested to see how this all plays out.
H loves it. My father loves it. My step-mother loves it.
I've watched all the episodes so far, which makes me wonder how I'm related to these people. Even more so by marriage, bc that implies things like a shared sense of humor.
We watched all three episodes last night and liked it. The twist at the end of the last episode was funny in an "it fucking figures" way. I did wonder how they would sustain the premise during the first episode, and it still kind of feels like it should have been an SNL sketch, not a series of full episodes. But I liked it enough to keep watching.

I want to like it more than I do, actually. I like it okay, but I love both Will Forte and Kristen Schaal, so I was expecting it to be "bigger," I guess. I'll still watch, but I"m not completely hooked yet.
Bumping this thread up now that there have been quite a few episodes. It's not must see TV to me but I like comedies, it does make me laugh, and I appreciate the new concept of it (meaning, not just another cop/lawyer/hospital show).
More spoilers
Adding Todd was cool. I totally want Carol to also fall for Todd too. Her character is a bit nutty for me so I hope she normals out now that there are more people.
The show definitely sticks in my head. I go to sleep thinking DH and I are the last ones left, that we need to go take stuff from the store, and best of all, that we don't have to go to work ever again.
I want to see them have more fun. There's so much cool stuff you could do with no one around!
Did anyone watch this new Will Forte show last night? Want to discuss?
We watched the first 2 so far - it's so good. But I'm not sure they can ever top the first episode.
I love Will Forte. He was great in Nebraska, so he has some serious acting chops. I wonder if they'll go to heavier and more serious places in this show or just keep it light. There's so much genre straddling these days, I'd like to see them go somewhere besides just silly slapstick comedy. But it's on Fox, so I'll take what I can get.
I still like it, but I think it's losing some steam. Ditto simpsongal that the first episode really can't be topped. I remember thinking, "How long can they keep this storyline going?" with the first episode and Will Forte as a solo player, but now I wish they'd tried it for an additional episode or two before bringing in more people. I was ROLLING when Phil was bowling by backing up the pickup truck full of bowling balls.
Having Todd show up was interesting because then Phil showed that he's a real jerk, rather than having the excuse of Carol being annoying. Now we fully get to see what a loser he was in the old world. I liked him banging on Melissa's door and confessing that he just forgot how to talk to people. His obsession with Melissa is just weird ... it's one thing to want to have sex with her because she's pretty and has a more mellow personality than Carol, but the whole "I'm in love with you, you are the one I've been waiting for" was just odd (although being "odd" and obsessive after being alone for two years isn't unbelievable).
Their lack of awareness about things is kind of bothering me ... with Melissa and now Todd showing up, nobody's said, "Hey, maybe there are other survivors who are going to find us" Or why nobody's suggested that there could be survivors on other continents, and they're just unaware because they lack a plane/boat to get there or any kind of communications system to contact them. I would really like to know what this humanity-ending virus was, how these particular people survived it, what happened to all the bodies, how do the women look so nice every day without electricity for hair dryers and stuff, etc. The picture of Phil's family and the birthday cake flashback from the first episode made me think that we'd get some info on his family, too.

We're watching it...it's in the "enjoyable but not necessary" camp for me so far. I'm not sure how they'll sustain the storyline, but they seem to be doing okay so far.
