H is forever nagging me to wear a bikini. I've been working out and think I might be brave enough this year (plus, three years worth of beach vacations have taught me that EVERYONE ELSE IS BRAVE ENOUGH).
But - I don't like my below-belly button area. I am very near brave enough to post swimsuit pictures for you all to help me pick something that would work with my body type.
But not yet (I've decided that if I can show you guys, I can go out on a beach in one. ML will probably take more bravery).

They don't work for me because I am shaped like Sponge Bob. But I LOVE the look of the vintage ones, esp. on women with lots of curves and the hourglass figure.
I was skeptical but I bought a pair for our vacation last week and I loved them. I thought they were cute and I was so much more comfortable without feeling like my ass was about to be exposed every time I moved.
ETA: I bought mine from Target. I think it might have been a Merona one.

You look aaaaamazing! I have a high waisted one and get a ton of compliments, it does hide my messed up belly button (thanks pregnancy and laproscopic appendix removal!) and looks super cute. I can pm you a pic if you like, but I'm not nearly as brave as you to post here lol. I got it at topshop.
That pink suit looks amazing on you!! I have a similar suit, very flattering for sure.
I don't love high waisted bikinis but I'm sure they look good on certain body types. I would try it out, though I have a feeling it isn't what your husband was thinking when he asked you to wear a bikini ?
I love them. I just bought some high waisted bottoms for my trip this weekend. I found mine randomly in Abercrombie but I was going to order some on Asos. The high waisted bottoms are popping up everywhere so I don't think it'd be hard to find some to try on in store to see if they suit you! You look amazing in the one piece though!
Your waist is so tiny! I'm torn on the high waist bikinis - and I own two of them. The Suit and a Land's End one. I agree that they strongly resemble diapers, but they're also the only style bikini I'll ever wear again (unless I'm someday, somehow able to afford a tummy tuck, which is highly unlikely).
I'm debating whether I want to even bring them on our trip next month. But, then again, women of all body shapes and sizes rock bikinis at the beach. I think as long as you feel comfortable and confident in it (this is what I personally struggle with), you can wear whatever you want!
