I bought a gallery wrapped canvas because it was the cheapest option for a 20x24 photo to fill the space over our bed. I got the white border instead of the photo wrapped over the frame so you would see all of the photo and I think I want a simple wood frame around it, so you wouldn't see it.
I just got it, and the wrap is really bad. 1/4" of white border on the front on the bottom right corner and the other corners are varying degrees of crooked. The photo color is also wonky - very red where the photo is almost black and white, slightly blueish. Am I being too picky and these are common issues or would you complain?

Where did you get it from and how much did it cost? I certainly think you can complain but if it did not cost much my expectations would not be too high.
I would definitely have issues with it. It does depend on where you got it. The color could be off with your image or their printer. Also, did you check sizing on the image? That might be a reason why the spacing is off. Anyway, check those things and definitely let them know you are not happy.
I would complain. I have quite a few canvases in varying sizes from various places from cheap to $$ and they're all decent or at the very least look right.
I'll be honest though, some photos just seem to do better on canvas than others and I've never had anything turn out successfully with the border option for some reason.
And this seems dumb but did you check what it looked like cropped on your screen? It's very different often times.
It was from Easy Canvas Prints, which I bought a groupon for so I paid $40 for a canvas that's normally $110. I was worried it was a get-what-you-pay-for trap, but I was willing to try it because a print, mat, and frame for the size I need is going to be pricey and I'd rather just spend the money on a canvas... unless of course I end up paying for both ways. The quality is OK and what I expected for the price and the photo. I'm just annoyed that they did not print it the way it previewed.
It is definitely not a cropping issue. I cropped the photo to the size of the canvas before uploading it, and the print size is correct but they put it on the frame crooked so one corner shows the border on the front of the canvas and the opposite corner has the picture wrapped around to the side. I did preview it and it looked correct.
The color could be a monitor thing, but I have printed this photo and others with the same coloring from several different print places, and they've all been fine, so I think it's a printing error and not just my computer screen. It is not a professional photo, it's one I took when traveling with my DSLR.
Image I ordered:
Canvas: (please excuse the mess - bedding and curtains are navy, walls are a pale blue/gray)
