I'm going to a gala on the 14th and I'm wearing this dress
I finally figured out how I want to do my hair (my hair ends at my bra strap) so I made an appointment for an up-do. It feels silly to make a hair appointment for a ponytail.
I am so pissed. I moved out of my apartment in Charleston almost 60 days ago, and the landlord still has not returned my security deposit. After I gave him more than 60 days notice that I would be leaving in January (when my lease was up in March), set up showings and found a new tenant to sign a YEAR lease for $150 more per month than I was paying- that douche has not returned my deposit. PISSED.

Is there a law that it has to be returned in a certain amount of time?

There is a law that states that any deductions from the security deposit must be itemized and sent it writing within 30 days. I moved out Jan 7, but my lease technically wasn't terminated until Feb 1 when the new tenant moved in. Still, that lease was signed on Jan 8, so the landlord knew the lease was ending and he was covered. I gave him my new address the same day.
Ice and snow here in Western, NY. We have SO.MUCH.SNOW!
Right?!? Enough already Mother Nature! Sheesh. We're all getting depressed and even the promise of spring in less than 3 weeks isn't making me feel any better.
I was hoping work guy would come over after the gym, but because of the weather (thanks again MN) I don't think he will be

I would be pissed too. What does he say when you asked him about it?
I had a great phone interview today. And I have interviews set up for tomorrow and Thursday. I might be getting a job soon! Which is very yay/boo. Yay because money, boo because no more sleeping in.
At least I was able to finish Gilmore Girls, Friends, and House of Cards during my unemployment. I am pretty sure there was another series in there as well. LOL.
abcdefu I'm not sure what I would give him as a nickname! I rarely have anyone so it's not like it's confusing haahah. We can just go with G for his first name haha.

My son's speech therapist called this morning and I couldn't bring myself to listen to the voicemail. Ignoring it did nothing, since she e-mailed me at the same time (and sent a letter home with DS!). They are going to exit him from the speech program. I know this is a good thing, because that means he's done so well that they can't justify keeping him in the program any longer, but it's terrifying to me. I can't even express to anyone who didn't know him back then what a miserable kid he was before we started speech (at 3). He was so unhappy all the time, had violent tantrums, and couldn't follow a simple direction or answer a yes or no question. Now he's a calm, quiet, super smart kid who has a crazy vocabulary. I'm so proud, but still a little nervous, since he's been in speech practically his whole life! I just hope he can continue to develop socially without the benefit of the social skills work they do in his speech group! I feel like I need to pour some champagne...but I can't decide if it's to celebrate or to drown my sorrows!
I meet with my daughter's speech therapist tomorrow. I know she will not graduate yet, I can't imagine the day she does!!
If you don't mind me asking, how old is your son? My daughter also started at 3 and is in kindergarten now.
He's in 3rd grade and will turn 9 next month. His issues are with receptive and pragmatic language. When he started, he couldn't answer a yes or no question, he'd just repeat whatever you usually asked or say something random, and he didn't use any spontaneous sentences (unless he was repeating what you usually said).
Me: "Did you have a good day?" Him: "Did you hiiiit? Did you be nice?" Me: "Did you play outside today?" Him: "Miss Deena!" (His teacher at the time.)
It's funny how those old anxieties come flooding back - I think I've used speech as my security blanket all these years and didn't even realize it! It's been such a HUGE help to him, and our whole family by extension. It was the best thing we could have done for him! When he was tested at 3, his language skills were that of an 18 month old. When he was tested again at 6, they were at a 7-8 year old level.
Another Boo to actually going back to work. I have really been lax on the working/eating well while not employed because having no schedule just messes with me...so getting a job means no more excuses, lol
Today was a roller coaster! I got the best news ever over lunch today. Like the best news I've gotten all year. And then I broke another sales record at work.
And then around 7:00pm I got the worst news that I've gotten in the last year that could possibly turn into the worst news of my life.

Too much for one day!
Crap @bk, I hope everything is ok. Well done on breaking the sales record, and yay about the good news I guess!
I had the 'dreaded got back with ex-h' dream nightmare last night! Someone hold me!
I've had this one too and it was the same, I was happy in the dream but still nervous I think and I woke up feeling super anxious, but also very relieved that it wasn't real!

PDQ I'll DD: Poof
in summary - XH has filed for full custody of our son
Oh, @bk I'm so sorry, that sounds like a huge horrible surprise I will send all my best vibes to you and all my crappiiest ones to your exh. I don't know why some parents pull shit like this, it generally has nothing to do with the best interest of the child and everything to do with ulterior motives on their part. Makes me so angry! Grr.

I know exactly! And even the questions show they don't care about my son... They asked for my medical details and therapists and medications, etc. but not my son's! Really? Don't they care how he's doung through all of this?
and ya know when we both lived in the same area post divorce for 2 years and we had 50/50 custody I did everything for that child. Every dentist appt, every meeting at school. I even took him for every single haircut. His dad never got his haircut in 2 freaking years. And I've done so much for him the last 3 years and he's doing great these days. How dare he say I'm not a good mother.
Oh wow @bk I am so sorry, I cant even imagine having something like that pop up out of no where and then feel like they are questioning your parenting. You have your sons best interest at heart and I am sure everything will work out in you and your sons favor, but its not fair that you will have to go through the whole process. Lots of thoughts your way!

What did your attorney say? Do they have a case or is it a bunch of bs?
So sorry! !!
He didn't have any other information. He said we just have to see how serious he is or if it's a bunch of bullshit retaliation. I have to fill out all the ridiculous information and just wait. I think he's been working (without telling anyone) and it was about to come out in the custody proceeding (he had to produce tax returns)... and he doesn't want to pay more in child support (it was based on his unemployment income). So he's trying to get custody.

Is he related to my xh?!?! I'm so sorry! Stay strong and know that you are doing the right thing!
