Ds1 is home from daycare today. He's got a cold and was also just super fussy and cranky this morning, crying about his teeth, and he had a slight fever. We gave him some Advil and he's happier now, saying "teeth hurt just a little bit". So I'm thinking it's his top molars that are making him so cranky and exacerbating his runny nose and cough. We'll have a TV day today and he'll be back to daycare tomorrow.
On a funny note, before dh left for work, ds1 was sitting in my chair at the kitchen table with a cup of milk. He looked at dh and said "My needs a coffee"
Bragplaint- it's going to be 80 here so I want J to wear shorts to daycare. He looks redic because shorts are so long on his stumpy legs. Does anyone make short boys shorts
DS2 slept so well last night! Only two short wake ups and I got two long stretches! I feel amazing.
One of my good friends in the UK had her son! He's looks adorable and I wish I was still there to go meet him and see everyone! It's a double edge sword having friends located so far away. She had a third degree tear that ended up with her in surgery -- ouch!
Everybody has school today! I have tutoring. I always drag my feet getting there, but really enjoy it. I do wish they had given me a more challenging kid though.

I think we're finally starting to turn a corner on the separation anxiety thing after almost 5 long months. L did great at the gym daycare last week, he's been so much better with my H, and yesterday when my inlaws were here I went out to pick up lunch and he didn't fuss at all. I really hope it's ending. My life will improve drastically if it does!
Somehow Disney thinks we are 61 days out instead of 60. I guess b/c of when we check-in? I don't know, but it wouldn't let me FP this morning.
Which means I have to do it tomorrow. Except I've got an all day work trip that has me gone from 7-7. Guess I'm setting the alarm to get up early. Ugh.
I've been binge watching House of Cards the past couple of days. Why did it take me so long? The first episode of Season 2...OMG!
I haven't made it past that point yet so no spoiling things for me.
I am finally getting around to watching it as well. Episode 1 of season 2 was definitely a "holy shit!" moment. I have a few episodes left in season 2, then DH and I can move onto season 3 together. He's so sick of re-watching what I didn't bother to follow the first time around.

My siiiiiiiinuses!
I just want everyone to be healthy, the weather pleasant, my children well behaved, my house spotless, my to-do list empty, my body bangin', and my hair thick.
Finally had a good night's sleep! DS STTN 8:30-7:15, which is much better than the 6am wakeup of the last few days! I only woke up once to pee (the night before it was 4x), and DH didn't snore!
Quick question- if your kid puked up a lot of what looked like last nights dinner, but has been fine for the past 20 minutes, would you keep them home from daycare? He hasn't eaten breakfast yet n
I'm trying to decide what to do today. I have a huge to-do for before DD comes, but 90% of it is predicated on DH doing something first. Like I want to wash & put away all her clothes and set up the changing station, but DH has to assemble the dresser first.

I caved and rented a Symphony pump last night. I figured it's worth one last shot. I used it for 5 pm pumping and was able to get more milk in only 20 minutes compared to 30. But then MOTN pumping was no different then usual and my left boob has decided to not produce much. Hopefully it improves. I'm not bringing it to work since I only pump 2x and it's so big to carry. But I have no extra milk in the fridge - hopefully FIL doesn't need any extra today. I might need to thaw a bag or 2 tonight so I have backup. I'm so mad I had to buy tubing. I threw mine out when they came home from the NICU since I assumed I would be fine using my PISA.

Could you do it at midnight? Or 12:01?
I could if I could stay up that late, lol. I'll just get up a few minutes early and try and get on.
Dd's terrible bedtime was only an hour last night. And it was her laying in her toddler bed yelling "I don't wanna go to sleep! Mama mommy! Daddy dada! I don't wanna go to sleep!" Which is much better than standing at the door and howling.
One of my coworkers resigned yesterday, effective Friday. She decided to retire rather than continue to work for our department head. While part of my enjoys the chaos, as a visible indicator of how much people dislike the department head, I also really, really hate that were now so short staffed at our busiest time of year.

We follow the 24 hour rule on puking and fevers.
Thanks. I was both dreading and looking for this answer. Lol. I've got myself excited to miss work, but I also don't have sick pay.
I thought I was going to be the only one at the office today and now one other guy is here. I am annoyed because I was planning on doing lots of walking around the office/parking lot to try to beat my friend in a fitbit challenge, and now I can't without looking like a weirdo! Hah.
DS STTN for the first time in a few weeks. AND I didn't wake up to pee at all, so I was in bed from 9:30p-6a. That was pretty amazing.
Apparently there's more snow on the way? I haven't bothered looking at the weather lately, but probably should. I'm actually wearing nice shoes for once and didn't bring boots, but it's supposed to be gross as I leave work today. Womp womp.
On a related note, daycare is having spring picture day today. So DS is in a cute springy button down shirt with a whale emblem. It looks all wrong when it's 9 degrees and there's snow on the way.
DD slept until 6:40 this morning! That's the latest she's slept for weeks. I got up at 5:30, pumped and got a few things done, and now I'm just drinking coffee and watching her on the monitor.
My friend was going to let us borrow her portable DVD player for our trip but she forgot to bring it. Now we have 14 hours in the car with no DVD player! Help! Is it worth stopping at Target to buy one? Is using a laptop just as good?

So I had bought a few cans of the pureed meat, but hadn't given them to DD. I planned on mixing a few spoonfuls with veggies or something like that. Anyway, I was out with friends last night, so my H fed DD dinner and fed her the entire jar of meat. I don't know why its so funny to me, it just is.
Also, I have only watched the first Ep of House of Cards season 3 and cannot wait to watch more. I have been dying to open up the posts discussing it, but I don't dare.

Do you have an ipad he could play with? I would probably stop and buy one a DVD player.
One of my favorite bands (who are also friends) announced yesterday that the bass player (who is my closest friend of the group), is leaving the band to pursue other passions. He is also an amazing sound tech and will work his current studio job full time. I am irrationally sad about this, despite thinking it's so awesome that he is following his passion. But it will also make my trip next week even more epic, because I'll get to see his last show with the band.
Counting down the days until airport mimiosas at 8am, a queen bed all to myself, and three full days of live music and libations. NINE DAYS until freedom, people.

Not really. I remember my DS going through that phase where all of his shorts looked like cropped pants, lol.

No no no no no no no no.
Please no.
We have had 3 different stomach bugs this winter. She quite often seemed fine after throwing up once then threw up again a 2-12 hours later.
