I don't think we have checked in for a little while. Last week with 14 hour days was pretty much a wreck for my diet and exercise. We ordered in food 3 meals a day at work and I had no time for working out. On the plus side I was running around like crazy at work, so I was more active than usual.
I went grocery shopping on Sunday and got almost all produce and protein. I have meals planned for the week and worked out Sunday and last night. I havent stepped on the scale at all in 2 weeks, but I know I am making good choices this week.
I am in my 5th week of a 5-week challenge through my gym. I haven't had alcohol nor have I cheated during the whole 5 weeks (it's been very trying at times to say the least). I am only down 3 lbs (I feel I've lost inches though), but it's just discouraging that although I work out every day, it still comes down to nutrition, and it's been solid (except my water intake could be better). I thought because I was committed to eating healthy along with working out, the pounds would surely drop fast, so I am feeling a little discouraged.
I started back up with my workouts last night. I got rather discouraged with the new program. I couldn't keep up and my lungs were hurting. I stopped after 15 minutes. I'm trying again tonight. Only way to get better is to keep at it. I did do a 45 sec plank last night which is a new high for me!

Well, yesterday was pretty great! I did a workout on my own at the gym (and I am sufficiently sore today) and then I got home and walked my dog and then walked my neighborhood by myself. I actually walked over 10,000 steps!!! I also stayed true to my meal plan. I'm feeling pretty good.
Today I have planned to take a class at my gym after work and then I will walk my dog again.
I'm feeling hopeful that I will be able to stick with it this week.
I had a physical last week and it showed that I am the picture of unhealthy. It was really the kick in the pants I needed though.
I have stopped drinking (I may have a glass or two of wine on the weekend ), I am eating a healthy, real food, low fat, low sodium diet and will be working out at least 4 days a week (walking/running).
I'm already down 4 pounds in a week, so something is working. I was put on blood pressure medicine and am hoping this lifestyle change will allow me to get off of them sooner rather than later.
Gah! I'm the worst at keeping this going. Last week was a wash for me. Like bl I was working cray cray hours. This week I'm back on track through. Eating well and did a HIIT run last night and got up for barre class this morning. I'm feeling pretty good. Eating high fat, low carb diet has really helped.
I have been doing bootcamp twice a week for 2 or 3 weeks now and I am already seeing an improvement in my strength which is great. We did a fit test the first session and I think I held my plank for just over a minute and on Monday I easily did 2 minutes and was the last on still going. I also can nearly do a proper push-up again which is cool. I am excited to see how far I've come in a couple weeks when we test again.
Eating wise I have not been terrific which is probably why I haven't lost any weight. I did buy a scale though which was kind of depressing as I weigh about 2-3kg more than I thought I did lol and now it doesn't seem to be going down. I'm a healthy weight though so it's not a big deal, just a larger number than I'd like to see.
