I've got a work trip there soon. I'm staying in La Jolla. I will have some time to myself and I'm trying to figure out what to do.
Originally, I was thinking that I'd like to go to the Hotel Del Coronado, get brunch and a massage, then maybe take a walk on the beach. But looking at a map, that is far from La Jolla, and I won't have a car. I don't really want to take a $50 cab ride there, and a long ass bus ride will totally kill my nice day of pampering.
So any recommendations on where in La Jolla to do this? Or is there some other thing that's easily accessible from La Jolla that you'd recommend I do?

We love La Jolla, but I don't have any recs for spa stuff.
We go to the cove to snorkel, or you can rent kayaks if you're into that type of thing. Depending on when you go, there are sometimes concerts or other activities going on in Scripps Park. I could probably spend a whole day there just walking around and people watching.
You'll need a car/taxi if you want to go anywhere else.
You're staying a great location-they're a plenty of shops that are walk-able and the Estancia is a great spa to check out. walk down to "the cove" and check it out-it's beautiful!!!!
If you need a restaurant rec, George's at the Cove & Brockton Villa are both amazing!!
ETA: Find out WHERE In La Jolla you are staying...it's fairly large and if you're not staying "downtown" then you may not be near a walkable area or near the beach.

I don't have any spa recs, but the bolded is true. What people tend to call "La Jolla" gets expanded quite a bit, so if you are going to be near the mall, its not super close to downtown la jolla/ la jolla cove.

If you are, it's only a ~$15 lyft ride away. Much better than going all the way to Coronado
OK thank you! I'm not sure where I'm staying, but I don't mind taking a short cab ride to get around, I just didn't want to be out a $100 for a round trip ride to get a massage.

If you really want to visit the hotel Del and check out Coronado I'd be more than happy to come pick you up and take you. They have a nice sunday brunch.
As for local spas I love the Spa at the Rancho Bernardo Inn but its not close to where you will be.
Definitely figure out what part of La Jolla you will be in; there are a few hotels over by UTC/UCSD that are classified as being in La Jolla but they are not located in the village.
The Estancia has a nice spa and has a few weekly spa specials. They also have a decent happy hour at Mustangs and Burros.
Brockton Villa is a good location for breakfast and lunch. Its on the coast and has a ton of patio seating. The only downside is that it smells horrid on the coast (to me it smells worse than India) because of the seal, sea lion and pelican waste.
I know that irene adler is supposed to be down here sometime this month. If your days overlap we should coordinate a GTG.
I was just looking for this earlier! My mom and I leave next week.
Estancia had a Tapas Thursday special with a 25 min each facial, massage and mani. I think it was $180 including tip. Downside was that their restaurant isn't open until late May.
Rancho Bernardo had an 80 min scrub/massage for around $180 and looked to have nice facilities and a restaurant.

Following for some more recs!
The Rancho Bernardo Inn is nice. The spa has its own pool and you can opt to get your treatments done in one of their open air cottages. It is a golf resort and the spa is located down a small hill from valet parking. The walk down is great its the walk up at the end of the day that sucks! Their casual restaurant, the Veranda, does a ton of specials. My fav is Wednesday night- all you can eat prime rib for $25. www.ranchobernardoinn.com/dining-specials/ I was underwhelmed by Avant; it replaced one of my fav restaurants in North County. They typically have a decent wine list. At the spa- the Citrus Cherry Bliss special is great. I did that for my birthday last year.
If you will have a rental car and dont mind driving a bit you might like Glen Ivy. Its about 90 minutes north of downtown San Diego. Its a hot springs spa with various pools, mineral baths, a spa and club mud. www.glenivy.com/glen-ivy-hot-springs/
Do you need food recs?
The Flower Fields in Carlsbad are open for the season so thats something else you can add to your list of things that you might want to check out.
