DS has been crawling for the past 1.5 months and it cracks me up what he finds to play with. Currently he is obsessed with shoes, especially the laces. He just finds the laces so amusing. He also loves the heat vents in the floor (that is a constant re-direct on my part).
What things do your kids like to play with that aren't really meant to be a toy?
calculators. we bring one everywhere and she sits there pushing buttons and attempting to count. "bah, doo, fee, bah, NINE!" nine is the only number she knows how to say lol
I have a flap style purse that DS likes to play with. Sometimes it's actually a purse. Other times it becomes a dinosaur and the flap is its mouth and it gobbles things up. He does have actual toy dinosaurs to play with.

DD is obsessed with some curled ribbon that had been attached to one of her birthday presents. She loves stretching it out, letting it snap back, twirling it through her fingers, getting it wrapped around her toes.
Register covers Clothes that aren't being worn, especially if it has a button or a zipper. Diapers The caps from her bottles Her high chair. We have one that straps on to a regular chair, she likes playing with the straps and buckles. Tags. When she was really little she played with the tag on her playmat/gym thingy more than the toys that came with it.
his diaper pail (due to the logistics of his crib, the pail is next to it... woke up to him opening and closing the ubbi. now it's locked and out of reach )
