OMG you guys.
This ad was just posted on the student housing fb page I'm a member of:
We have 2 rooms available in a six person co-ed house on BLANK STREET. Our group has two guys and two girls all going into WHATEVER YEAR. It's close to campus (5-7 minute walk) and NEIGHBOURHOOD. Message me for more details if you're interested!
(Obviously I changed some identifying info). And then the person added these pics. Fo' real.
Yeah, that looks like the huge house I lived in Senior Year. 12 people: 6 girls, six guys. It was such a shit hole but so much fun.
The plumbing was wonky and the kitchen sink and the first floor bathroom shower shared a wall. One day I went to take a shower and there was spaghetti coming out of the shower faucet. SPAGHETTI.
ETA: I had a little slice of paradise as a student in an apartment building where bums routinely peed in our vestibule area, I found a bag of puke in my hallway on a Friday afternoon and it was not removed until Monday morning, and local dirtbags would ask me to suck their dicks as I let myself in. It was nestled between a Dairy Queen and a bar on the strip so it was conveniently located if nothing else (and tastefully decorated if I do say so myself).
I had the bedroom pictured to myself. The bathroom and kitchen were shared with 2-3 other housemates (strangers when I moved in).
Again, I shared an apartment like that with one extra bedroom with H, with a little bit more square footage. At thirty.
Okay. Why so #combative?
I shared a bathroom with strangers. Who, by the way, weren't the same strangers every month. Because people moved in/out. Don't think that compares to sharing with your H, so I don't know what your point is.
Disclaimer: I still rent a room in a house and share with strangers. I'm not some princess. I don't understand.
the ad pics look similar to the off campus housing I lived in. Well, we at least kept most of our stuff picked up off the floor. but the guys beside us... that looks like how they lived.
oh, I remember the guys above us dropping their kegs and we could see our ceiling bend. good times.

Why are you always so quick to jump to people being combative? If there are no caps and no f-bombs, I'm cooler than a polar bear's tit. I'm just pointing out that your student digs are as nice as a lot of people have as working adults in the professional world at thirty, so maybe a bit of a skewed viewpoint.
Sorry. I guess I misinterpreted your tone.
I posted the second set of pics as an example of how nice student housing can be. (I don't live there anymore. I live somewhere much shittier). I wasn't complaining or trying to imply the second house was comparable to the first. lol
