I've been having lots of dull pain on my left side. It comes and goes, but there is a more persistent pressure. It sometimes feels like something is wedged under my lower ribs. But then sometimes it's fine. I'm more likely to feel the pressure after I eat, but this morning it was very present when I had an empty stomach. Right now I just feel steady dull pain that is radiating from the left across my middle. None of it feels super low, though. It's belly button level.
Do you have your appendix? (Seems a little high for that, too, though.) I had a cyst, & the dull throbbing was pretty consistent to where I finally called & requested an ultrasound.
When I had cysts, the pain was pretty focused in the crotchal region. Like, it radiated from the front of me where my pubes started, to back around my ass. It sounds like this is too high on you
Are you constipated? I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago with what I thought might be appendicitis (dull cramping alternating with sharp pain, off and on, over on my lower right side) and he said "Could be a cyst since you have a history, or you could just need to go. Go get some prune juice."

I was when it started. I've gotten back to normal now.

This. My pain is always very low. Like almost in my groin.
Not to keep the appendicitis worry going, but the appendix is notorious for deferred pain. Appendicitis often starts with pain on the left (wrong) side. The easy appendicitis test is to push into the pain and then let go. Appendicitis pain hurts when you let go, not when you push down.
Again, the appendix is low though, so if it's hurting up by your belly button it's probably not that. Could you have a hernia?
I should also point out that when I finally called the doctor about the random pain, it was five days after it started.
Me: "So I've been having this off and on pain on my lower right side, and I think I'm fine, but now people are telling me it might be my appendix so I should get checked out."
Nurse: "You should come in."
Me: "But it's been since Saturday. I'd be dead by now, right? So it's probably not appendicitis."
Nurse: "Just come in and get checked out, it's easier than dying."
My gyno discovered I had one on my left ovary a couple years during my yearly PAP/pelvic exam. It didn't hurt when she pushed down but I did say "oof" when she did.
I had a follow-up sonogram, and sure enough it was there. I came this close to having all my lady parts removed, but miraculously it went away on its own and NO SURGERY!
