Does anyone feel like PIP? I need inspiration for DD's new room when we move (she's currently in a toddler bed, we'll move her into a twin at the new house).
I have a couple PBK quilts picked out, but are those very warm? She'll probably need a down comforter for the winter too, right?
I don't have pics right now, but we did the PBK mermaids. Light purple walls, and her rug was already pink and green. I got the quilt, but we live in FL. Pewter day bed, white dresser, desk, bookshelf. Her name hangs above we bed in pink letters and we got the mermaid decals to go around it.
We just got DD moved into a twin last weekend. I have a couple of things to hang up yet. (And please ignore the mattress on the floor - that was to make sure she didn't roll out.)
I don't have any pictures handed and she's still in her toddler bed anyway. But! A couple of things:
If you're putting the head of the bed on an outside wall, buy a solid headboard. The outside walls of the house get cold and I used to wake up with cold ears. It makes a big difference in how warm she'll feel.
We really, really like the Levelor double cellular insulated blinds. We got the cordless top down/ bottom up and love them. I wish I would have gotten the blackout liner too. But again, they keep the room warm.
Dd will have a down comforter and a quilt over that.

I'll go take some of my girls' rooms in a few minutes. They are seriously messy (not "oh, the room is so messy because there's a laundry basket on the floor" messy), but that's real life for me :-)

I should really just start texting you my replies because I feel like I quote everything you say, lol.
I just looked up those blinds, and they'd cost $450 per window (or if i did 2 per window, $300). We might have to stick with the Home Depot faux wood blinds with a blackout shade over them, lol.

No way! We paid like $180 per blind through Home Depot. That may have included installation too. I think we bought them on sale, but definitely didn't of that much!

OK thats not as bad! Maybe We could do these in the bedrooms, and the faux wood ones everywhere else. The new house has a LOT of windows!
Anyone want to help me pick a quilt? Sorry the pics are huge. We're also planning on buying the PBK Catalina bed (in the second and third pictures) in white.
I'm trying to avoid going all pink overload, but am ok with some pink.
How far away is the closest one? We drove 2 hours each way for ours and it was worth it!
About 3 hours (Orlando), and we'd have to rent a van or something. I've been thinking about it, though. There are a few things I want.
They're totally redoing this shitty mall we have here, and I wish they would just wipe the whole thing out and make it an Ikea. We need an Ikea!! There are none in North Florida.
I'd probably drive 3 hours for one, I don't think that's a terrible drive, especially if you can pass your kids off on someone else and make it a day trip without them.
Also, am I creating a complex or promoting vanity if I mount a mirror on the wall like this?
Nope. Dd has a giant mirror on a wall in her room and she adores it. She stands on the toybox all the time and looks at herself or asks me to hold her up and says, "All pretty!" I also like how it adds light to the room so it also looks fresh/clean even when it has everything my 3 year old owns all over the floor.
I am equal opportunity in the vanity department though. DS has a HUGE mirror propped in the corner of his room ATM. My SIL made it and it's all engraved with his name and decoupaged with stuff he "loves." It's totally awesome, but it's still in the corner because I don't know what to do with it. His armoire also has a sufficient size mirror on it besides. He can see both from his crib and loves to look at himself. Fun for hours!

You bought that duvet! Did you decide how you're going to use it? Where is that bed from?
I'm just starting to think about DD's big girl room, but I should not be making any decisions yet since her future room is full of our junk right now... I have no idea where we're going to put it all. The room doesn't have a closet currently and I'm contemplating changing the plans for it to make it a LOT bigger and we can store all our crap in there, lol.

I did! And I starched and ironed it, LOL. It has a duvet in it right now, we'll see how it works.
H actually built the bed. It's pretty close to the Hemnes one at Ikea, but he thought theirs was a little wobbly. (And in his defense, it was, haha.)
